I don't watch a lot of the 20's but they do have a hell of a lot of 17-18 olds who played or could of played sg balk this year. There is a big diffence in strength between an 17 - 18 old and a 20 old which is what a lot of the other sides are made up off. Also hard to get some consistency when players are being pushed up to nsw cup including the 20's half combo. We also lost some players to the Australia school boys carnival .

We're not the only team playing 17-18 year olds in the U20s.

Mind you, we HAVE pushed most of the 20 year old blokes up in recent weeks (once we were out of contention). Hence the loss of wins recently!

Hindmarsh looked very tired in the second half. Saw him in his haunches at one point waving the training towards Luke Burt who had broken a fingernail near the tryline.

I can't remember ever seeing Hindy sucking in the big ones like that. He is done folks, no hope of him going 1 more year. Poor bastard.

Reni Maitua is definitely the front runner for captain next year. He was unbelievably pissed when the tigers scored that second last try. You could see him screaming in the background. Get rid of all of the old codgers with the losing culture and give it to Maitua, Hayne and Paulo to take the team forward and bring the winning culture. These boys hate losing. There were shots of all three of them late in the game and they all looked disgusted.

The tigers are going to be the laughing stock of the top 8 if they somehow manage to hang in there. Their defense was diabolical last night.

The thing is, in some cases more harm than good can occur by playing 17 and 18 yo's with 20 year olds. Much like 20's playing in first grade. Confidence can be shot to bits.

Is there actually any proof that there is benefits in playing these kids with the 20's?? Surely you'd see all other clubs doing it. Yet when SK does it, he's hailed as a genius.

If that was true clubs wouldn't do it.

Much like 20's playing in first grade. Confidence can be shot to bits.

It's very different for one reason - the youngsters playing under 20s will find it easier each year as they get older and stronger, and as the players who are older and stronger than them become ineligible for under 20s. There's an in-built confidence booster right there.

No-one hailed him as a genius. He was merely hailed for bringing in what all the top development clubs are doing. That doesn't make him a genius, it just makes him better than previous coaches.

Not with this squad.

Well since it's not able to be proved either way, you can keep saying it :p

But since it can't be proved either way, the only real proof is the lack of wins over 2 seasons, and the historically bad win % that was accrued.

Either this is the second worst squad of all time, or another coach could've done better in the win department.
Based on our roster, I'll go with another coach could've done better.
Prior to the season beginning we had 3 Origin players and a kiwi rep, plus an extraordinarily creative halfback.

Half the current squad is also 'the house that Jack built' (ie, SK brought them here) - and they are NOT the guys who are top tier talents.

WRONG! Anderson did it too and at the time there was much talk about it being great etc.

Kearney came along and did the same thing and it was like no-one had ever done it before and he was such a forward thinker.........

Convenience is a wonderful thing I guess......
