Ive never bought into any rationale about BA means keeping on unders. Thats a myth. If there is anything to it, its chump change. Bellamy is probably the only merkin who any player does that for. No one else. Everyone gets paid to stay/go. .... knowing who the coach is is important though. Two clubs 9ffering much the same coin, if one has no clear coach they are at a disadvantage.

We will probably need to stump up another 200k to keep Drown and 100-150k to keep moses ... they might not even be worth it but whats the alternative?

I have no idea why you have gone down this path. Ive not tried to say anything pro BA. I said Papa is the only real talent loss

Agree. Unfortunately they haven't done too much good since 2017.

In fairness to them they did well for the squad up until this time last year, but the reality is that this group has only turned up to play for 80 minutes in a hand full of games since.

You can almost count on one hand the great 80 minute performances they've put in the last 12 months. Storm in Round 24 and Panthers in the Finals last year. Panthers, Storm, Roosters and Knights this year. Outside of that, we've just simply failed to turn up in the right frame of mind, or just been prepared to run through the motions and hoped our opponents turned up to get beaten. All of our other wins, we've won because our opponents have been more shit than we have been.

It's almost like the ability to run hard, tackle hard, chase the collision and front load our effort just became all too hard to do most weeks. It's like we're burnt out from playing that way and have simply hit a wall.

In the first 19 rounds last season, our opponents scored less than 18 points on 12 occasions. In the 12 months since, 27 games all up, only on 6 occasions has our opponent scored less than 18 points. Our for and against for the first 19 rounds of 2021 was +220. In the last 12 months since, our for and against is -88.

Something has seriously gone a miss with this playing group in the last 12 months.

The decision to extend the coach for two further seasons is now probably the dumbest decision this board has made.

I used to love the bloke - not overly quick, or strong, but safe, skilful, and smart.

He is a shadow of the player he was.

And he isn't a leader.

Agree I used to think if Jarryd Hayne had Gutho's determination it would be the perfect player.

But Gutho has been Parraised in the past 2 years. His press conferences are embarrassing and tbh his media talk during the week is just as bad

Its basically all talk just like Timmy mannah used to be when he was skipper during our lean years. We need to be better but know where we wrong BS. That us fans have heard all before.

Well I have been to 3 sponsor events in the last 2 years and BA hasn't been to one of them.

Before covid BA was there even if it was a short appearance he would speak at them.

Maybe because of covid it has given him an out to not bother but I don't know. But the players have been there. And BA no longer is there.

Sacking players mid contract shouldn’t be a consideration at this stage. We should be looking at changing the coach first. The roster assembled has proven they can be a consistent top 8 team and push top 4. We need a different voice at the top.
