I agree with that. Their contract value only needs to come into the equation when you are talking about resigning. Right now we are paying for them both anyway, so may as well use the better of the 2.
If we were talking about who out of both you would resign if you had to for their current contract value, then yes there is an argument for Makatoa over Brown

Unfortunately both Makatoa & Jake are plodders who won't change a game which is bad if they are the only other players available able to play fg. Doesn't say much for the other players in top 30 and reflects badly on the coaches and the retention/recruitment committee.

The thing is we already had him for this season. His new contract hasn't even started. He gets a big pay rise next year and the following 2 years. It was always a mistake to extend his contract that long.

Niukore runs hard and hits hard. Unfortunately, rarely passes and has no offload. Handy but not indispensable.
