Eggs

Are they good for you? Bad for you? What's the go?

I was told by my personal trainer that my protein intake is really low, especially in the morning. He suggested eating two boiled eggs in the morning to pick the levels up. I'm a little concerned about cholesterol though. Mine is a tad high and I'd like to cut it down.

I've googled the hell out of this subject and keep getting conflicting answers. So does anyone know? Are eggs bad for you?

10 years ago they were saying 3 eggs a week was all you should eat because of cholesterol - but now they say it isn't as bad for you as they thought because the cholestrol isn't the worst kind - and also the cholesterol is all in the yolk, so you can eat the nearly pure protien in the whites without any worry.

I know about the whites. I ate the whites this morning and it was about as tasty as dirt. And not the fancy store bough dirt either.

I've also thought about getting some protein powder...the low carb/sugar variety. Basically with my diet, I barely eat any protein until dinner. I shall try and rectify this

Make an omelette from egg whites, smoked salmon, tomato, onion and a bit of cheese - delicious - and all healthy except maybe the cheese if you go mad with it.

I have a protein shake immediately after my (6am) session (at about 7:30) and then have breakfast (oats) at about 8.

If I don't have the shake I cramp up and get really sore, and often get a headache that morning.

If you are doing any sort of strength training you have to get some protein into your diet in the morning - a shake is a good (and quick) option, probably the best option actually.

egg whites blah blah

the yoke has the stuff in it that the body will use....dont waste it. use the whole egg.

thomas stop mucking around wondering about egg whites, get your sh*t into gear and concentrate on eating clean throughout. you ask alot of questions, which is cool, but pointless if you dont use the answers day in day out.

DO NOT THROW OUT THE YOKES

look thomas...get your act together, that is not a 'diet'

you really need to look at yourself in the mirror.

dont ever worry about powders when you arent even getting any real protein from real food

you are coming across as a clown, im sorry
