Perhaps it should be worded. " what is the average age of the genuine first grade quality players in our run on squad"

Based on many peoples posts here over the past few weeks, there ate plenty of players in our squad not worthy, and never WILL be worthy of a genuine first grade claim and are just filling in for our injured first graders.

I don't necassarily agree with that assertion though.

but if they are wearing the first grade jersey to me they are first graders. just at different levels.

I watched the souths game too SS and have to agree with you on Owen Craigee, I don't know his stats but he had an excellent game. Another oldie we could go after as long as he can kick the ball between the posts. Goal kickers we should buy everyone thats available...........bah

Owen Craigie is 25 years old.
An old head on an unfit young body.
But he makes up for some of that with a very good footy brain.

too bad he never got to play under a decent coach.

He didnt have a good game yes, but thats 1 game, you dont just go off 1 game, especially with regards to goal kicking, for most kickers 6/8 is ok, for El Masri it isnt, never the less he is still the best/most consistent kicker around.

His games have been pretty ordinary all year thats why Bulldogs won't give him the dollars he wants and yes he is a good goal kicker,but he's an aging footballer and his general play is getting slower by the game.

I was of the belief he was leaving due to the problems occuring in the club, he wasnt happy having to be involved in that. I dont deny he is not the best winger around, but Im sure most clubs wouldnt mind him, and I think with a team like ours which is a great attacking and point scoring side, we need a person who can convert all the tries we score. If we an find someone at our own club in the likes of Hilder (hasnt be to good yet) or Merritt the that would be good, but it seems unlikely these two individuals will kicking above 70% in the long term.

I agree Sharkies ATW we do need a goal kicker because Noddy is just not good enough even though he thinks he is but surely instead of splashing out a fortune for El Mazri we could put that money to a RECOGNISED goalkicking coach and teach some of our own the art of kicking. IMO we don't need to buy ANOTHER dud as we have in the past because all El Mazri is looking for is a retirement fund and thats we will end up giving him.

Im not sure if El MAsri would be asking a s**t load, he isnt that good of an overall football player so if the price is right I say go for him.

El Masri doesn't want a fortune. We can get him easy. Though Brent Tate would be a better buy.
