well ireland should have played scotland then........again whinge at ireland, aston & the RLi...not me
Aston and the RLI don't appear to be complaining about Ireland losing players. I agree that they should have played Scotland, but this was probably financially a much better option for them. That doesn't change the fact that this is a joke match and is being treated as such.

Who for? Your beloved RU aside again against the all blacks tonight OR for your soccer team that got it's pants pulled down durring the week??
Must be huge quantities of lube in Ireland.

Been a bad week alright. At least tomorrows League humiliation won't register on the public conciousness.

lol yeah thats what i thought too. Must be a huge league fan to be in the interntional section making those comments.

If it looks like a troll and smells like a troll chances are it probably is a troll:shock:

You bring up 2 different sports in this section, following me around to just make mindless attacks and accuse me.

Fact, thankfully our nation won't notice this game because it will be another loss in a bad week for us and we don't need that (though the rugger chaps did themselves proud today).

It's either good/bad that people can/can't see it, pick one and stick with it.

All I know is, the more coverage, the better.

It was bad that I couldn't see it.

It's good that this result won't make the news in Ireland.

I'm guessing Adam Hughes struggled then.:(

I'd like to see a couple of the England Knights players promoted to the senior England team for game 2 v The Exiles.
They should rest Sam Tomkins and play Stefan Ratchford at fullback for starters and get Scott Taylor in to replace Jamie Peacock.

Follow you around? Christ you rate yourself don't you. I've been posting in this section long before you ever joined this forum.
Incase you hadn't notice this section of the forum is about promotion of the international game of league, not troll posts like the one you can't out with about no one caring.
Fact!

Quote from BODISGOD; I'm guessing Adam Hughes struggled then.:(

Unfortunately he was a bit out of his depth, but to be fair it was never going to be easy. Blooding such an inexperienced player against such strong opposition. Hughes is a mid level union convert but also not just out of school (mid twenties) so perhaps Aston felt the clock was against him. Untill this, Hughes has only played a couple of games for the Ireland "A" team and probably less than a dozen Irish club games (a level so bad it has to be seen)
So what you might call a baptism of fire.

It is stated by RLI often that they want to play Irish born players but at least the others had some grounding to prepare them for such strong opponents:
McCloskey,23, 1 year at Montpellier & St.Helens academy
Cross,22, 1 year at Montpellier, St.helens academy & NW Crusaders
Kerr, 28, Oldham for 3 years
Taylor, 20, Two half seasons at Harlequins 18s & Leeds Rhinos 20s.

Quote; .....as for ireland not selecting its best players then thats there problem, they've only got maybe 5 games before the world cup..they need to be selecting there best squad minus the australian-irish.....and need to be forcing the likes of mcllorum into making a choice now instead of making the choice after being cut from the england sqaud...

Interesting that Shannon McDonnell (of ireland) was playing for England.
