Mate, don't get upset I'm just trying to think of a solution that helps everyone.

That idea helps England's depth, helps the Euro Cup and encourages players eligible for the other Euro nations to make themselves available
I'm not upset. I just don't like the concept of fielding two teams at the same time of year and claiming they are equal when anyone interested in RL in the UK knows that one of them is vastly inferior to the other one. It won't fool anyone.

I've said it before but any tour could seamlessly see the host nation involved in a local tournament at the same time without too much fuss. Select a squad of 30-35 for the international season and play both a Euro/Pacific Cup through the tour as 2 pools of 3 and a final.

England V Ireland - EC A
France V Wales - EC B
NZ V Australia/Tonga or Scotland/Italy

Italy V England - EC A
Wales V Scotland - EC B
France/Ireland V NZ - Tour

England V NZ - Tour Game 1
Ireland V Italy - EC A
Scotland V France- EC B

Euro Cup Final - A1 V B1
NZ V ?? - Tour Game

England V NZ × 2

6 game international season with a larger squad shouldn't be too much to ask.

If England and a reserve England team play at home at the same time of year next to nobody will attend the reserve game. This is England mate where most people don’t have bottomless bank accounts like Australians have.

What if all England Knights matches are played away??

There's another good point.. keep these B-teams as touring sides ala the Aus PM XIII (short tour though it may be).
Can't really claim ticket sales will take a hit by playing away if you don't think anyone in England wants to watch them anyway.

Having a tour/international squad of 30 isn't much of a stretch from 24 where we always see Aus/NZ/England rest players against "tier 2" nations anyway. Every game is 'England' they just have a bigger squad to use for rotations, every team in every sport does it.

People pay to watch midweek games with touring B teams all the time

tito claimed soccer teams do it regularly and then agreed with me that they don't.

I neither know nor care what union does unless it affects RL.

Well my point is people pay to watch second rate events.
Didn’t they get a good crowd up in Workington or whitehave for NZ vs Scotland? Is it unrealistic that a knights or weakened side could draw a crowd in such a place?

They do use a large pool of players during qualifiers and rest the top line players for some fixtures. But I agreed with you that they don't play two different tournaments at the same time

England A v Australia attracted close to 7,000 in London for 2003 Kangaroo tour..
Do you not think people went to see Australia. The opposition in the EC is nowhere near as attractive as seeing Australia. If it goes ahead you’ll be lucky if they get three thousand to EK games played in the north. God knows what the attendance will be elsewhere in the UK/Ireland.
