Disagree Hiney. You don't break up our best opening partnership that we have had for 50 years just becuase Langer isn't getting big scores at the moment. A test average of 47 or whatever with over 100 tests, he is a bloke I WANT in my test side. No doubt Jaques is talented, but is unproven at test level.
so your saying if langer fails in the first two tests he shouldn't be under pressure to retain his place? especially if jaques continues to score runs, what is he a protected species? he has been a great player for a long time, that's why i think he at least deserves the first couple of tests to prove he still is good enough.

 both are true

Poms looking sharp eh Tommy - god they're awful making Jaques look like a genius

NO, Langer's position is safe at least until the end of the Ashes campaign. Simple as that. That is the way the selectors think IMO, and fair enough. If you were going to drop him, you'd give him AT LEAST till Adelaide anyway.

ps. Wonderboy gone for a mediocre 50!

Well the pressure is on Watson then isnt it, having done NOTHING in first class cricket of late (a few performances in ODI's doesnt make him a test certainty) to score runs and/or bowl well. Couldnt take a wicket from 13 overs today against WA. Better hope he can score runs against WA's pop gun attack

he doesnt support NZ

yeah, gotta feel for him

- semis of the Champions Trophy
- best union team on the planet
- current tri-nations league champions (and current form team)

all this (and much more) with a national population less than Sydney - I can see why you're envious devil boy
