I understand completely what the Western Bears will be.

Drink the kool-aid if you like, but it'll end up as a shit show just like all these supposedly "ironclad" relationships do. It's only a matter of time before things start going wrong, and the agitating will start as soon as they do.

It's an insult to anybody with braincells that it's being taken seriously at all, and the fact that you dare call yourself a sandgroper and support it puts paid to the notion that you're a sandgroper at all.
Who are they going to be in conflict with? it‘ll be 100% owned by the WA consortium lol

I'm not sure if it's the right time but Wests should absolutely pursue their own interests at some point.

Balmain is lost. The future is in the West and Shane Richardson himself is on record saying that.

Has Balmain remade their leagues yet? All talk no walk just a big graffiti ridden shithole that has been stinking up the sidewalks of Rozelle since what feels like forever.

It's gone nuclear.

Well he is an intermediate CEO, he wants to go back to his easts tigers in Brisbane, the club he has been pushing for as on of the next expansion clubs, but no one wanted thier firehawk brand, (as they couldn't use the tigers) with this break up they can, regardless whether balmain is involved or not

If you meant "interim" then you are months out of date. Richardson signed a 4 year deal to be the Wests Tigers CEO back in April -

Well that settles it then.

The Magpies can go into hibernation just like the Bears have. It might not be 25+ years before they get another look in either. The NRL should continue to pursue teams outside of NSW but it won't take long for the Tigers rabble to get flushed down the toilet because they've been in there for ages now.

Means to an end, what's 4 years of he'll when the ultimate goal has always been to gain an NRL licence of your hometown club, besides if this is his real motive, he won't last that long there anyways

Steelers have been out of the ownership for a few years.
St G Football Club (funded by the Leagues Club) & WIN Corporations own 50% each. WIN gift one of their board seats to a Steelers nominee as a good will gesture.
Good to know, but they haven't reverted to the St George Dragons with all the history that goes with it. It's still a JV club that started in 1999.

Well Saints tried to buy the other 50% when the Steelers could not continue but were blocked by the NRL. (From Press reports at the time).

Currently, it’s more similar to the Souths setup. Ownership by the footy club and investors. In our case equal share, in Souths case I believe the footy club is a minority shareholder

But the nrl uses that history when it suits them so it will always be there when talking about the saints. Nobody looks at the team and thinks it started in 1999.

Agreed, the Dolphins can attest to the NRL picking and choosing to acknowledge history. Apparently they sprung up out of thin air two years ago
