I think I predicted a late blow-out to Wakey, but must admit I was barracking for Widnes, Smith, Ah Van and co are just so loveable :p

Hey Didgi my brother, how do you spell Lauititi? < is that it?

Lauitiiti.

Tim Smith man of the match based on last 25 minutes.

Edit: This reads wrongly. Tim Smith was the official man of the match, and it must've been based on the last 25 mins.

I think Widnes are going to go alright. It can't be expected that their return to the super league will be flash but I think they could potentially cause some upsets. Wakefield only have one surviving player from their 2011 season so judgements cannot be passed on how they are going to play in 2012, I mean their defence was sensational during that match at points.

Really impressed with the quality of the match, especially for a first round clash, but it will be interesting to see how this season progresses.

I cannot believe Smith got Man of the Match. Lauitiiti was superb throughout most of the match, yet, Smith does two things right and 4 things wrong, but still gets it. Boo.

Oh and

Leeds 34-16 Hull KR
Windes 14-32 Wakefield

Both 18 point winning margins. Not bad for the Super League.

Wakey actually aren't too bad this season because they have a fair bit of depth, agree with what has been said about Tim Smith, he was absolutely awful but did a couple of nice things and the idiots gave him man of the match. Kyle Amor was by far the reason Wakey got in positions to win that game and Danny Washbrook showed a couple of touches of class in the 2nd half.
Widnes won't win many games because if Willie Isa and Jon Clarke are in their back line heaven help them.

Saw Kallum Watkins tries v Hull KR and the exciting thing is (if he stays fit) there is no one else like him in the British game.

I think Salford can win at their new stadium, it should be an exciting game because both teams like to throw the ball around.
I just hope the London Broncos put up a good showing v St Helens

Was going to say the same about Amor, good showing, certainly a bit better than Smith. Not sure there's no one like Kallum Watkins but he's certainly a tremendous talent.

This BBC bloke has no idea. Apparently Cameron Smith is the Manly number nine and Michael Robertson is a former Australian test player. OK...

I don't think I've seen a team as one-dimensional in attack as Widnes were last night. They had so many consecutive sets in that first half but just didn't know what the hell to do with the ball. Denis Betts has a lot of work ahead of him this season.

I desperately wanted to put a halftime bet on Wakefield, they were losing, but clearly the better side just waiting to get a bit of possession. But bwin, the site I use, didn't have them as one of the live betting options :(

Will the astroturf pitch become an issue for them? Apparently Wakefield weren't happy and I could see a few players bleeding from the knees and elbows because of it...
