Thought i would bump this thread, in recent times which dragon who left the club did you wish the best? Usually any player that leaves the club i hope does poorly but i genuinely hope clune does well at knights. on the other hand saab, frizell etc i always laugh at their misfortunes.

I think Saab is doing really well at Manly he will be one we regret letting go that's for sure however as they say you cant keep them all and he was being offered a lot more money by Manly at the time. All that crap about being homesick because he had to travel to Wollongong for training is a lot of rubbish, it would take just as long having to travel over the spit bridge to manly several times a week.
Manly were guilty at the time of approaching a player under contract and persuading Saab to breach that contract.

Definitely Clune for me. Good player, good guy, good club man, hard done by IMO. I hope it becomes clear he is a star player at the Knights.

Geez there is a lot of support for Clune and his playing ability isn't there ? Cant see it myself but good luck to him. Smart guy whom I wouldn't bet against coming back and joining the system in a coaching role when he retires.

Can't help but feel sorry for Frizz. Absolutely loved him when he was with us and was pretty bitter when he left crapping on about wanting to win a premiership. I said at the time I'd buy everyone on the forum a coke if the knights won a title in the next five years and that prediction is looking pretty spot on as they're the new basket case of the league.

Saab on the other hand, a pea hearted fool who can run real fast in a straight line. Will never forgive his petulance and disrespect to the club, no matter how awful we were at the time.

I wish all players who did their best for the Dragons good futures at other clubs, especially the guys who suffered or weren't given a chance under Mary - Host, Clune, Herbert, Sele, Havili and Garrick, for example. Very happy to watch Jai Field score a hat-trick in the Super League. I used to love Frizz but when he left I felt it was unlike what I thought was his good character to desert a sinking ship. If only he had hung on a little longer he would have seen the ship being stabilised before sailing into calmer waters. Now I have a bit of a laugh at him when I see him charging like a battering ram into several defenders rather than any attempt at hole running. Meanwhile I begrudge any success that comes Saab's way. A totally unethical exit from our club.

I hold no anger towards Frizz. We were a basket case at that point, and while I have no idea if whispers of him being uncomfortable with the club's staunch defence of JDB were true or not, I wouldn't blame him if that, or anything else, were the reason.

Regardless, I tend to wish all former players a good career, just that they don't run us up and down the park when they play us.

Good to see Duftys defence has improved at the Bulldogs - seriously the kid is a doormat.. Cronulla have strolled through for 2 easy tries w Dufty feigning a tackle attempt the second time..
Just about to say the same. He literally ran past one guy and just got smashed over the line… it is so laughable. He knows he needs to work on his defence and he refuses

The first sentence description of Jason Saab is spot on.
