Someone that absolutely busted a gut for us was Duges. He’s the only player of ours in memory that was in tears after a loss.
If he was under supercoach Griffin instead of numbnuts we would have got the best out of him instead of the meh.
That's not my recollections of him. Great in the first two years but ate a lot of our cap and slowed down our attack, couldn't pass & set up supports ( didn't Nightingale score 5 tries on his side one year and then moved to the other and scored 16 ? ) great defensively but you have to consider he was our highest paid player before Hunt came on board so you have to hard mark him. Sure gave everyone a opportunity to see him bust a gut by going down faster than a ten dollar hooker ! I do agree though that he could be considered another victim of Mcnumnuts ineptitude.

That's why i love the way we are going and refusing to pay overs for anyone now. These 800k contracts really have bitten clubs in the arse ( Norman anyone ? ) and to think that Dugan went from us to another 800k contract to join Moylen & Johnstone on similar, it is a wonder the Sharks did so well at the time ( well better than us ! )

I somehow missed it but I just noticed James Schiller is making his first grade debut for Canberra this week. I hope that doesn’t come back & bite us.

Schoupp and Schiller or the Feagai twins? Judging by how gutted we felt losing our last twin combo and the combination they have with the three amigos I absolutely understand the decision, not to mention the old adage you can't keep them all.

I wish the kid all the best though and don't begrudge him at all, especially considering the connection to Canberra being related to Mullins.

Love to know the inside story with Schiller ( George ? ) It was surprising that he wasn't in the Raiders system all along being where he came from & his relatives. Has he had a quantum leap in improvement or we just didn't give him a go , even though we let him stay at home for his HSC year. Or was his go hom,e factor ( with Canberra in his ear ) too strong.

I read somewhere where a recent recruit is “ on the nose” at his new club already. The only clue he threw down was they were first round winners. My first thought was Suli then more logically …Dufty

I don't think you can doubt the culture that's developing at the dragons, the way the boys got around each other after the win was pretty refreshing.

I also don't doubt that crooked mouth of Duff's is already landing him in hotwater amongst teammates.
