Valencia isn't a right back and it shows. Didn't play any worse than usual, did some good passes forward did one really bad one back.

Di Maria threatened more in recent weeks, shame for him the ref went mental after he failed to send the arsenal right back off.

Half time sub's were fine, Herrera was all over the shop and left blind exposed, we had much more control in the second half with Carrick. Personally I would have brought of Fellaini and pushed Herrera up, but I don't like Fellaini playing in the number 10 role for us. I assume Shaw was injured as rojo is a liability wherever we play him.

We are actually showing signs of improvement, the problem is our creativity. Hence I'd start with mata or januzaj in the 10 role.

An argument can be made that Bellerin deserved a 2nd yellow. But so did Di Maria. IMO screaming at the ref should warrant yellows, let alone pulling on his shirt. Di Maria had a brainsnap and deserved what he got.

Poor Di Maria, it's not his fault the ref was 'mental'? That's a cop out. He got rightly booked for diving, and he got rightly booked for showing disrespect to a referee. Deserved nothing less than a red.

Absolutely gutted. By far the best we've played in months. Out to a f**king brain dead back pass from Valencia. A brain dead reaction from Di Maria didn't help either.

Still can't believe LVG said that he has no 20 goal striker. He puts Rooney up front, and surprise surprise, he scores them some goals. Maybe if he would give Falcao more chances instead of ignoring him or subbing him off al the time, Falcao would improve to his best form as well...

So he spends 150 mill and he has no world class CB or CM. And according to the man himself, no 20 goal striker. So after all that money basically no spine to the team.

De Gea has kept them in so many games.

United fans saying they played well. We were denied at least 2 more goals by DG's fingertips. 4-1 against a mortal keeper.

An argument?

The second foul on Young was a yellow. He had already been booked.

Even Wenger saw it, and he is famous for not seeing anything, hence he subbed him.

Welbeck in first half, takes a dive play on. After he went mental Di Maria did the same, booking.

Fellaini fouled 8 times but the ref only gives 11 fouls against Arsenal? Fellaini was fouled 5 times in the last 5 mins!
Note to ref, if fellaini commits a foul, then the Arsenal player does the same it is a free kick. However as the Arsenal player is not a 7 foot mop head and the ref had gone it is play on.

Not the reason we lost (just don't go bunniesman and pretend it didn't happen).

One stupid back pass and a lack of creativity is why we lost. The first thing happens. The second will be fixed. Just takes time to recover from the best manager ever retiring, Moyes and a lot of experience leaving.

Don't mind losing, actually being disappointed about losing is a strange feeling this year, now we have to keep going over the next few weeks.
We have a lot of growth in that team.

Falcao has been rubbish. We took a gamble, it happens.

At least we can send our new striker back. ;-)

I can see 5 high profile players leaving this summer.
Could be fun.

Get a winger in the summer and stick Januzaj in behind Rooney.

But I'll save that talk for the United forum.

One final note as I exit the thread for another year, Warrington Town won more games in this years comp than United!

how does turtleneck justify saying he doesn't have a 20 goal striker? he has 3 of them that have produced 20+ goals a season regularly......maybe there's a common denominator in that statement?

He has enough individual attacking talent to supply goals, he just can't get them to operate as a cohesive team, and they instead bomb it up to Fellini and hope he'll either score a header or provide a rebound. That's where Falcao could have really come in handy against arsenal if they insist on playing that way for the time being. But these players are finding it difficult to play to LVG's Ajax/Barcelona possession philosophy. It's totally different to the man utd identity, ie playing fast, using width, taking risks. That style would probably give them a lot more freedom to express themselves. Alex ferguson would absolutely drool over having players like Di Maria, He's totally made for the typical United style of play. So like Collymore said, either LVG needs to change his style to something more familiar for United, or the United fans need to settle for a new style. LVG seems like a really stubborn guy, but so would United fans who have seen so much success and entertainment with the fergie way.
