Guys I work with who don't follow rival codes have lost interest in the game. They're an older crowd but the scandals and the attitude of the players is what's driven them away. They'll take note of the scores and etc but they won't watch a game anymore.

Two of them admitted they were never huge fans but some of the others are just disappointed with everything that's gone on. I remember earlier in the year when it was just one thing after another it got to the point where it was expected and they'd just laugh about it.

Sadly, they are real people and this has affected some supporters. Not the die hards obviously but they all count.

Oh yeah, one of the ladies I work with won't let her son play League anymore and will be playing soccer next year. She believes it to be a cultural thing. They're the worst kind of losses.

hahaha. flirt!

well stories like this just break my heart because i believe the good in league far outweighs the bad. in my experience the majority of league players are fantastic and the sort of men i would love my future sons to grow up to be. it's such a shame that the actions of a few have tarred the whole game (in the eyes of some). sigh.

Yeah some people go over the top dont they, like RL players are the sole course of societies problems and issues..i bet you would never find an NRL or even a league player doing that pathetic sh*t.

Thank god sportsmen from the A-League don't act like a bunch of grubs day in, day out. What a bunch of losers NRL players are. No wonder the sponsors are ready to run from this sport. I certainly wouldn't want my product associated with these morons and it won't be long before other sponsors pull the pin on this circus either.

A-League players aren't in the paper every other week for it though. Can you blame her? A one off incident doesn't look anywhere near as bad as when it's occurring regularly.

As much as I hate to say it, the way it's portrayed in A-League is that it's the minority. The media do a great job of painting it as these incidents being rife in League.

What should be made to happen in fan comments is that people should have to have an email address linked to their quotes, so they can't just post tripe and run, if people find it objectionable, they can personally call them out on it.

They probably are real, but they're cherry picked from a vast array of "this won't affect my love of Rugby League" (which is often the opinion I hear out in the real world) because they can't stir the pot with that.

people get all emotion and over-commit when they write these things. They are after a big impact statement.

Whats the bet that guy who said he wont watch again will soften his stance in a little while.
