Superman. He's an icon and a moral guide for some. Easily the biggest and most recognisable hero ever.

The real world's reaction to his existence would be extremely interesting.

Wouldn't be much in it, though - but I reckon Batman is the most recognizable superhero in the world.

Perhaps his kick-arse logos helped him reach those heights - I remember those awesome t-shirts with the black bat on a yellow background from my childhood.
