Halfy, when was the last time BS blooed a heap of players? For example, a FIVE EIGHT????

If Brett Keny was a current up and comer, he wouldn't get a look in for Wagon.

The problem is, we don't have a Brett Kenny in the lower grades to prove your point.

Feleti played his third Premier league game the other night as much a super talent he is, to throw him to the wolves now could prove to be disastrous for his development.

Do any of you realise that Sonny-Bill played 2 years of premier league before made his debut against us??

No one cares if sonny-bill played in PL for 2 years....it doesn't help their arguement that it is only parra who plays young talent in PL.

Young players Smith has blooded - Lyon, Vaealiki, Graham, Witt (you can't deny he played a young player), Burt was a kid when he started, Tonga (sure he went to another club this season, but he got a game last season and had a shocker), Tsoulos, Armit is no grandfather.

Witt came from fleg last year so hopefully Tsoulos and Mateo can do it as well.

We have a big injury toll at the moment.

We have more to gain by giving these kids a go, rather than the likes of Kat or Pearson.

I reckon it's good to give the kids ago against the so-called weaker opponents.

Coz of all the injuries, blood him to give him a taste.

If he's good enough, he should be given a go.

Isn't his name a Sexual Act or sthing.

The facts are that we need two strong and dependable centres now that Vaealiki is out and Lyon walked out on us.

O'Dwyer may have filled one spot. But who the other? Of course, he's out of the equation now, unfortunately.

The probability is that Prince and Burt will fill them, with McKinnon at fullback.

What I WOULD LIKE to see is a junior talent. O'Dwyer never played any serious grade and got signed for us and did well.

Someone like Mateo or another junior should do well for us.

Of course, the player has talent and so should do well, even in Firsts.

The only issue is they may take a while to get going a la Odie, and some may be quick to criticise them a la Odie.

Prince will be out for a long time after having an operation.

Burt is not a centre. He should stay at fullback where he offers us alot more and has so far played quite well.

Langi is doing fine for now and i'd put Wagon back in the centres next to Grothe. Wagon's style of play in the centres is similar to Vaealiki's as well. Muspratt can fill in at 5/8 if Smith wants to continue with the 2 locks approach or else Witt or Thorman can come in as traditional 5/8's.

I haven't seen Mateo play but he sounds like an exciting prospect. He'll probably eventually be eased into first grade via the bench but they'll probably give him at least a month in Premier League before considering him for FG.

Every year you get guys that fly throw the grades to play first grade! Last year Parra had Michael Witt, Ashley Graham and Justin Tsolous come from Flegg to First grade. I think Mateo will be the first of those select few that make it this season.

Yeah!! your probably right Jess!

If that is the case both Witt and Ash made their first grade debuts before him. you can't fault Brian for that.

As for Feleti, He's a genuine first grader of the future, no doub't about that, my only concern is blooding him at the right time, and unlike Witt and Ash, Feleti is a ball playing forward with a physical presence about him that could be a target for the "Chris Beattie's" in first grade.

Also, even though you were my eyes on the weekend, prior to that, I've seen him play brilliant in patches and clock off at other times.

but having said that, I predict him debuting lat in the year coming of the bench.

You want to get em all into first grade and SMASHED before they move to other Clubs. How ridiculous are you people???? Their time WILL come when they are READY.
They are only kids. Big diffence between Jersey Flegg and NRL. Big diffence between getting tackled by a kid in Jersey Flegg than by a Gorden Tallis or Adrian Morley. Bring them in to soon and you will do their future a great dis service. Look through the Jim Beam Cup teams for kids who were given a run too soon. Where are school boy champs like Kris Flint...as good a kid in Schoolboy football as you would have seen, Tim Horan, Damian Chapman now???
Washed up. They would have been superstars if not rushed.

Didnt hurt Tim Brasher, didnt hurt Brad Fittler, didnt hurt Lance Thompson, didnt hurt Josh Hannay, ddnt hurt Jason Croker, hasnt hurt Sonny-Bill Williams or Karmichael Hunt or some others playing at other Club so why should it hurt players who are playing PL and Flegg at Parramatta who are older than these blokes I have mentioned when they hit first grade????

If they are ready, give 'em a run.

Odwyer stood out as his defence was top shelf, and therefore able to be rushed into grade, however Feleti is more renouned for his ball skill, and although his defence probably stacks up in our junior grades they are far from NRL requirements.

Don't get me wrong I love watching Feleti play and look forward to seeing him one day playing along side the household names like Hindmarsh, Cayless, Morris and Co.

Bring Keating up from the SG Ball he's a beauty too.
What about Blake Green sensational in the Schoolboys. He's ready too!!!!!
Are those good schoolboys at Cronulla KILLING em in 2004 after starring in 2003.
Big difference between Schoolboy and NRL... They ARE NOT Physically or Mentally up to it. Where is Benji Marshall?

Ashley Graham, Michael Witt and Justin Tsoulos raced threw the grades to play First grade last season. Mateo is already starting in PL and its only rnd 8, baring injury he will be in FG atleast by the end of the season.

This is the PL side for round one of 2003, evidence that Witt, Graham and Tsoulos werent part of that team at the start of the season.

Ashley Graham made first grade in round 6 verse the West Tigers playing on the wing.

Michael Witt made first grade in round 8 verse the Rooster at halfback in the number 18 jersey.

Justin Tsoulos i am pretty sure made his 1st first grade appearance in round 16 verse the Knights.
