Damn this seems like ages ago now lol.
It ended up being 32 teams and $200 prize.
Everyone got randomly selected into pools. Each pool had a certain star rating.
First of all it was default FIFA 12 rosters and 4 minute halves.
I got Aston Villa for group stages, other teams were Newcastle, Everton and some other 4 star team.
I was in a group of young dudes prob 15-17 year olds.
Lost my first game 1-0. Basically meant I had to win my last 2 to make it.
Won my second game 4-2. Won the 3rd 4-1 and make the final knockout stage.
Knockout stage consisted of all 5 star teams and 4 and a half. My team that I use in FIFA is Bayern and It came down to me to pick out of the bucket 1 of the final 2 teams - Bayern and Arsenal. I got Arsenal
First game I'm playing Inter - a stud team pre roster updates. I go down 1-0 early and feeling the heat, I win 5-1 scoring 3 or 4 headers.
Down to quarter finals now. I play Chelsea! This team is RIDICULOUS pre updated squads. Torres and Drogba and the whole team is just full of key players.
It's the 65th minute and I've been dominating had about 4 shots at goal and the other guy has had none... Until suddenly he makes a break Torres is 1-on-1 with the keeper and puts away the teams first shot at goal. So the last 20 minutes I went ultra attacking but couldn't get the back of the net and he gets the sealer in the 90th minutes winning 2-0.
The guy I played said to me he doesn't know how he won and that I was tough and he got lucky. He ended up winning the whole comp, he won the final 4-2 against Barcelona.
Was a fun night and can't wait til next years tournament.
