Considering the Aussie dollar is stronger against yours, you should be able to lure more players to your club easier!

if they add kevin locke at fullback maybe he can reignite their attack

all they are missing is barba they have an awesome forward pack

ennis has always been slow

Tollman, Eastwood, Pritchard, Eastwood, Williams, Graham then add Fifita looks destructive.

Where will they have the coin to pay him though? He may not be an elite FB, but he is certainly mid range, so given the numbers that get thrown around these days, that equates to about $350k min for a mid range FB.

Is that an Oasis in the distance I can see?

Apparently the Sharks were offering 800k compared to the Dogs 850k. 50 grand difference - you'd think he might show some loyalty.

The ASADA shit that is happening with the Sharks at the moment has to come into his decision making too. How certain can he be that they will be able to field a competitive team in the future

News Ltd story says they were under the cap $400k last year and it carries over to this year so they have extra to spend.

if they do get locke im quite jealous of their recruitment now

bulldogs are the best run sydney club in terms of football operations.

just so ruthless and demand success.

meanwhile steven price is getting enough rope to hang himself at the dragons

I think dogs are making a huge mistake here. They have spots they need to fill before buying another forward.

Fullback and halfback

All well and good to have a gun forward pack but when you lack creativity in the back line your forward pack can only do so much.

If we think this is the last personnel move from Des Hasler then we are not giving him enough credit as one of the most astute coaches in the modern game. This is the first move in what will likely be a bit of shake up for the Canterbury team.

Absolutely agree. We will have a fullback signed up in the next couple of weeks though according the the SMH along with Lichaa to replace Ennis as hooker. That just leaves halfback and Moses Mbye looks the goods and Patrick Templeman's future is in the halves according to Crusher so one of them will probably take that spot. All speculation though

Also interesting that the Roosters offered him $900k and turned them down according to the SMH

Why do people insist that Ennis is going? He's only 30 (in a couple of days). Cameron Smith is on the verge of re-signing a 4 year contract with the Storm, meaning he'll be 35 when he retires. Why don't people understand that our captain still has a good few years left in him???

But since the lucky bastard doesn't have a chin, the rope will just slip right off and he will fall into a 3 year contract extension.

And isn't that $400k from this year (only the Rorters and Dogs seem to be able to use these loop holes it would seem) being sued to fund Fifita according to Raelene?

Wait, you can use previous years salary caps to fund current year or next year players? Dragons should be stacked with $$$ from the last 2 years then...

Well one of them is a future immortal and the other doesn't have a forehead.

One has been basically injury free his whole career and the other has had some pretty serious neck and shoulder problems too.

This decision makes little sense. The game is quikening up according to all and sundry and yet Dessie is buying a forward pack that would rival the Himilayas?

Talk about putting all your eggs in one forward pack.

Chook.
