Yeah all good , as i said better than i have for a long time , the weight loss and getting fitter has been the big one , I'm just on 6'4" and used to walk around 98kg's , got up to 103kg at one stage , but down around 86/87 now and i wish i had lost it a lot earlier , i would tell anybody to lose some weight if they want to feel better , physically and mentally . It's also means i don't have to take the pain relief that i used to , cannabis oil has also helped .
The Amitriptyline is great if i really need a good nights sleep , i can sleep like a log for 9/10 hours , when the doc suggested them i was like EH! but he said the people who use them for depression can take up to 20 a day , i take 1/2 when i do use them , they even get your brain to tell your body you don't have to go to the toilet in the middle of the night , haha . All sort of bonus'.
Wow, I must get me some of that...

Cannabis oil 😝

I’m slightly different only just turned 40 and haven’t played since I was about 18.
Played Mathews and ball when I had back problems and after scans revealed a number of issues the doc told me I could take my chances but could end up not walking again. Gave it away on the spot. Helped I was struggling to get picked even on the bench and wasn’t enjoying the pressure of so much training.

It goes without saying that absolutely everyone here and in the greater NRL community wants him to be perfectly fine, get the best care, get the best result and be supported by the club and NRL.

But if you think the club/Fitz hasn't already started thinking of looking at medically retiring a player who is nearing the end and still on quite big money in 2022, you're dreaming.

Of course they are/will. That's their job.

Fifita should be treated with the utmost respect in the process. He is a club legend. They will need to manage this sensitively.

Could move Fifita to a assistant prop coach, scout for Islander players as well.
Crusher Cleal is still scout for eagles in the bush

So, if you are medically retired….what happens to your contract? Are you paid it out…but doesn’t go to the salary cap?

Paid out and not counted for future years. Not sure if it’s a cut of date when next years money starts to be paid or if it’s before rd1. So if it is the case should be made within the next 2-3 months. Might be wrong but that’s how I understand it.

I’ll answer my own question cause I googled it. If you’re medically retired with a new injury you get paid out.

The best case from a club point of view is that the injury is new, after the players contract was signed, and medical insurance applies. So there’s likely a good chance an insurer will pick this up.

Of course, what I want is a full recovery for the big man. All this is just scenario discussion.

Well he can fully recover and still medically retire. In that his voice and throat is fine but the risk of damage playing again is too great.

Yeah not sure about when it would stop counting to salary cap. Probably doesn’t really matter as we won’t do anything with that this year….might give us an option for next, or even to front load a couple of others on contract

True. If feef really wants to play again, then good on him. His decision, I won’t bag the bloke even if he technically could get the retirement.

Geez our salary cap could take a big boost for ‘22 if both Wade and Fifi decide to hang up the boots. That would be the end of our 2016 squad wouldn’t it?

Sad coincidence that yesterday feefs career probably ends and today Jimmy hangs them up.

Of the squad in 2016 for me there's probably a top 6 who l place above the rest as having the most impact for our success.

They're both in that group.
Was Chad in that group?

Wishing Andrew a full recovery. What a bloody scary injury.

And of course no surprise Andrew and the Sharks have once again been farked over by the NRL.

It’s clear as day what happened. A certain ugly Newcastle player has gotten away with hitting Andrew illegally in the neck with enough force to fracture his larynx. So you’re allowed to stick out your forearm or elbow and strike the opposition player in the neck now?

FMD can you believe the uproar if it was that protected species Pongia? Bet there would have been a different outcome.
