Lots to consider in that one CB. Ill answer with another question, does Wadey provide what Burrito does at the moment ie hard ball tearing runs that break open defences and give opportunties for backs (and score tries into the bargain? Well we dont have any brilliant backs that can capaitalise on the opportunies that Burritto provides so much. So if we get say a Blake Ferguson then id lean towards Burritto but only just i must say. While WG doesnt have the obvious size and is clearly not in a front rowers role i see him as an on and off field leader. He can also bust the line and defends well ie we lose a liitle bit but not everything Burritto offers.

Is that hypothetical or a possibility? Anyway...probably keep Burrito, Graham hasn't impressed me much the last 2 years - he's becoming a bit of a hog and rarely passes to his outside. Lichaa to me is a possible injury basket case.

I thought Graham was consider a future Sharks captain?
Either way we lose out. Ide keep Burrito, but would be pretty sad to see Wade leave.
I havnt really seen enough of Lichaa but Brown and Holmes impressed me more in the 9's anyway.

Question to the forum: If you could re-sign Fifita, but lose Wade Graham and Michael Lichaa, would you do it?

Yep sure would ... as others have said, Fifita's attacking skills are one of our few areas to threaten opposition defences.

I love Wade's effort & commitment, but as a bulked up battering ram he hasn't been that effective over the past 12-18 months.

Can't we get the Burrito and Enchilada to change their names by deed poll?

So Andrew becomes David and David becomes Andrew, and then we sell whoever Andrew and we keep David.

Simple really.

I wouldn't want a prop as captain.

I'd make him an integeral part of the leadership group but the next captain after Paul Gallen, has to be Todd Carney.

I'm not fussed on it either but I have been told he is/was being groomed. Came off the back of the performances he put in when the captain/coach was out. He seems to thrive on being the leader in all honesty.

I think WG would be a decent captain. If not him then Luke Lewis. TC doesn't need the extra pressure the captaincy would bring. Plus he is not exactly a role model. Doubt Fifita will be even at the club. He wont captain the Roosters,Souths,Wallabies though. Maybe the Dragons. Just a thought.

Fifita by the length of the straight.

What Frenzy said.

Graham is a good player but Fifita is close to the best forward in the game. Lichaa? Might come good might not, I mean would be great to keep everyone but clearly we cant and if came down to Fifeets or those two, it is a pretty easy call IMO.

Correct me if I am wrong tho, we have Morris, De Gois, Wright and Gibbs off contract at the end of the year, that would give us a bit of room to upgrade a few players would it not? Then get some cheapies to replace them?

It comes down to who you want to build the team around. Carney is integral because he is an elite playmaker on a long term deal.

WG has stalled in progression due to injury and presumably Asada concerns. Still has excellent potential upside.

Fifita is an attacking weapon and as such is vital to taking this team from a grinding 5th-6th team to a 1st-4th realistic shot at a comp team. On the leadership front, he seems to have a charismatic personality that can influence. A good coach will harness that and make it work. If he is disgruntled it will go pear shaped quickly because he doesn't exactly have a poker face.

The signings of Lewis, Gordon, Heighington and Ryan last year has got us in a bit of a bind. All are experienced and at or slightly past their peaks. They were bought to provide a 2-3 year premiership window with a high quality back being the missing ingredient. Asada stuffed that a bit with the uncertainty over coaching and some high profile players.

Potentially losing Fifita or WG and keeping Lewis and Heighington etc creates balance problems with a bunch of key forwards getting old together shortening the window.

In short in recent history we haven't had someone smart enough to build the team properly. Injuries haven't helped but the cap hasn't been managed very well has it.

Good point.

Would you rather:

Option A: Andrew Fifita, David Fifita, Tupou Sopoaga, Junior Roqica, Fa'mauina Brown, and a few depth signings.

or

Option B: Wade Graham, Tupour Sopoaga, Junior Roqica, Michael Lichaa, Fa'mauina Brown, and a prop off the market?
