I'll pose this:

If he was staying, why wouldn't he announce it before the game on monday night? It would be a massive boost to the team.

Just a thought.

I'm hoping for asurprise announcement just before the boys run out to play.

Something along the lines of "Fifita signs long term Sharks contract for a modest amount".

...and sharks upped their offer yesterday to the biggest deal in the clubs history.

If this is true, I'm tipping (hoping) he will stay. CB4 said a week ago we were close to the mark. Maybe we have bridged gap?

The other question to raise is if this is true, should we be paying a prop forward more than a half (Carney )? If we have to do that to keep Fifita, I don't really have a problem with it.

Fifita isn't just any prop forward though.
He's the best in the game with an amazing skillset.
Is we secure him long term it'll make it easier to keep other and lure other to the club.

God I hope he stays.

Like Gal before him, he is the type of player that will be a draw card.

He's come along at just the right time with Gal's career winding down.

Remember the try at Wollongong last year to bust the merged hearts wide open?
That's why he should be the best paid bloke at the club .
It was no fluke.

Dudes a freak ... The greg Inglis of front rowers.

Not to mention the 60m effort against the tigers. Farah didn't want to tackle him. Had a chance too.

Based on previous comments / here-say, you'd like to think if we upped our offer close to the others then he would stay. If he goes now then he's obviously just in it for the money.

Im of the opinion we should call it off at around $600k
After that, our club cannot hide payments like Broncos, Souths & mostly the Roosters do. We cannot absorb having so much invested in one player. As much as I like him.
Better off investing in D . Fafita. & maybe getting his other brother to the club.

Hopefully anything extra we are offering is coming in the form of 3rd party arrangements.

That is the key to giving players the bit extra.

I am guessing that is way we playing it, we folded on the Flanno legal, basically ASADA will be dead soon, then 3rd party arrangements hopefully using the development to lure on board
