So SKD smashes his GF and get's sent to a therapist and Fif threatens to smash a refs phone and get's 8 weeks.....

If this was a Roosters player it would be covered up and over with by now....

such bullshit
this is a nothing offence

In the eye's of Cronulla, yes, in the eyes of the NRL, No.

They are appearing this Thursday before the board. We will advise the NRL of our punishment by C.O.B Thursday.
On Friday the NRL will look at the facts, statements Lawyers recommendations and the Cronulla punishment.

They will either accept it, or implement their own. Fifita is loaded up with some good representation so we might get a decent outcome.
I would be more confident if the decision was left with us, but it is in the hands of the powers that be.

The same powers that are welcoming SKD back in white ribbon round with 10 charges of domestic violence over his head.

I don't get this. If we are at odds with the NRL over this, then we should impose our own penalty and f**k 'em.

If the NRL come in over the top then so be it. At least I can then just be angry at them...

If the NRL may impose sanctions over a clubs unsuitable sanctions, why don't they just do the sanctioning from the beginning?

A weak attempt at appearing to be a well governed body.

Appear to have the clubs running themselves and handing down punishment and that all is working well, then nail a club if they believe they have to and create the image that they again are a well governed body.

When in reality they don't want to get involved and don't want to be the ones judged.

WIN/WIN for the NRL.

The NRL will be far more concerned with sending a message and appeasing the baying media than trivial concerns like natural justice.

Based on the information available, Fifita likely deserves some form of punishment. However, an 8 week suspension is equivalent to breaking someone's neck in a lifting tackle.

The accusation seems to be that Fifita objected to being filmed and wanted it to stop, using some colourful language and a threat to break the phone. How that is worth the reported 8 week suspension is mind boggling.

And one week for Ah Mau smashing Kade Snowdens jaw making him senseless and assisted from the field for the entire game. No send off and a gift Stains victory results as Knights have one prop missing.

Anything more than 4 weeks and we have bent over and taken it without a wince.

I hope the boys legal team is pushing the NRL for a small sentence and advising them that it will become and ugly battle if anything else is handed down.
