Fiji putting up a good performance/beating England could be a catalyst for the international game to be given the respect it deserves in the UK.

Yes, but they don't. Otherwise we wouldn't have people repeatedly suggesting that these nations should be confined to playing against England Knights.

Last year Aaron Groom played halfback for Asquith Magpies, who won the joint Norths/Manly A-Grade competition.

There is also Apisai Koroisau who played hooker for Souths Under-20s. He is in their NRL squad for 2013 and has also played in the halves as a junior.

Thanks for sharing those news articles milton.

Rugby League in Fiji is going gangbusters and a good showing in the WC will only strengthen that. You can also throw in a few other names like the ex 7's player that has just joined Cronulla, Alipate Raitini who looks an exctiting product, he is super quick and has great footwork.

nobody has ever suggest anyone should be confined to play against the england knights...

I get that you hate the fact that england are utilizing a 'A' team to strengthen the full national team....but don't make sh!t up....though you where better than that!

They do, a lot of English fans totally disregard any opposition apart from NZ or Australia, you just have to take one look on RLFans to see that.

Sad but true. The best matches of the WC08 were in the 'normal' group stages, and I expect the same will be true this year, I'm looking forward to the balance of this year... starting to feel like Ireland will be this Cup's PNG though.
