dwi has a point 'spud. It's the sort of thing you state when arguing that there's nothing to stop the Celtic nations organising their own international matches. It would be good if maybe Fiji got to play NZ and Aus more regularly though.

They may well do but you always argued there was nothing to stop Wales organising their own matches. Pal!!!

aside from organizing a mid season international (ireland played mid season last year) they don't need to worry about playing more internationals cos they average 4 or 5 games a year anyway.....which is more games than the likes have fiji have played in 4 years!! so it's ridiculous to compare wales with fiji.....pal!!

Rugby league wants top officials for world cup

Arin Kumar
Friday, April 05, 2013

THE Fiji National Rugby League is looking at appointing high profile trainers and assistants to help with the preparations of the Fiji Bati side for the Rugby League World Cup.

One person on their radar is dual international Wise Kativerata.

The former Fiji Bati and Australian sevens rep is in the country conducting clinics at various venues to promote the sport.

FNRL general manager Tomi Finau said they were still working on securing his services and would make an announcement later.

He said Kativerata's input in preparing the Fiji Bati could be the catalyst that would take the national rugby league side to success.

"On one side he has the experience since he is a former Fiji Bati and he has played in the National Rugby League," Finau said.

"Another thing is that he has the qualifications and the understanding of what needs to be done to train and prepare a high profile team," he said.

Finau said since they would be getting a large number of NRL players for the Fiji Bati side, they would need someone who had been in regular contact with them and knew their needs and wants.

"Wise has been there all this time, in constant contact with them and knows a lot about them (NRL players).

"It is important to get the right personnel to look after the training needs of the players, medically and physically."

Meanwhile, the Fiji Bati manager would be named next week.

"We concluded the interviews earlier this week and will have a board meeting tomorrow (today) to discuss the matter so an announcement would be made next week," Finau said.

The Rugby League World Cup would be held in London in October.

There most defiantly is. He has shown no interest in representing that county before, won't be locked into them and will switch back next year, was in NSW squad this year, will probably be in the Australian train on squad at years end as he has been in precious years and would drop Fiji at the drop of a hat to play for australia. There is so much wrong it ain't funny!

Oh give it a rest. There's nothing wrong with what Sutton is doing. This isn't a Moi Moi situation. He could do this in any sport in the world. He isn't capped for any other country and unless he somehow plays for Australia in the few years he has left he won't play for any other nation.

i have to agree....sutton hasn't played for australia and isn't ever likely too either.....and playing for NSW & another country is 100% legal......even though he hasn't played for NSW yet either...
