Aren't you a Miami Heat "fan"??
The Heats big 3 took less than they could get otherwise so the Heat could afford Haslem and Miller. The Heats total salary this season is significantly less than a number of other teams.

The equivalent in US sports is when the Yankees win a world series.

The Heat are the opposite of City in a number of key areas.
I'm not a City Fan...I'm just very happy for the ones who were sat in Maine Road watching third tier dross a decade ago.

Those people are fine. But they make up a tiny portion worldwide City fans now. The other 90% disgust me.

Bunniesman, would you care to enlighten us as to how and when you became an Arsenal fan?
Watching a manager revolutionise the English game. Watching him turn a Milan bench player into a world class superstar. Watching that superstar dominate midfields for a decade. Watching the homegrown top class back 5 simply refuse to let goals in. Watching the greatest premier league striking duo in history mesmerise defenders and make life hell for keepers.

Winning trophies on the back of world class managing, world class scouting and unique skills and flair. Not on a world class budget.

Spend money, win. Simple as.
It wasn't like that before the Russians and Arabs got involved.
Easy. Etihad Stadium and 'Gazprom presents Stamford Bridge' should be a nice little loophole. And then just wait until Barca or Real's debt servicing swallow such a massive chunk of their revenue that UEFA scrap the FFP rules.
That's why I said if FFP is "legit".

United are still spending massive. Top ten in Europe massive. And they typically get who they want.
They didn't get Nasri because the little mercenary got twice as much at City.

I said RELATIVE shoestring.

Dude said United have a shoestring budget

Poor old United, running on such a shoestring.....
Look up the world 'relative' in the dictionary dickheads. United couldn't get Sneijder because they couldn't afford his wages. Bench players at City make what Sneijder does. Citys wage bill is greater than their entire turnover.

That's why CL football is so crucial. Liverpool were forced to overpay for ordinary players like Downing and Carroll. And they'll probably have another summer of that.

Hopefully with us being guaranteed CL football we can sign good players.

You know what the funny thing is...
Manchester City beat man u 1-6 at old trafford.
Tied on points at the end of the season Man City had a goal difference of +64 while scummy man u had +56.
That's an 8 goal difference.
Do you get it yet?
That's right.
If man u weren't such a pack of skirts and had of put in that day and only lost 1-2 then the goal difference would have been tied on +60 each.

_60111757_manchesterderby.jpg

And then man u still would have lost on the fact city beat man u TWICE.
ahhh
So many laughs, so little time.

Yeah, because 90% OF ManU Fans aren't glory hogs. They just became fans because red is a luck color in Asia. In the 1990's.

90% of Chelsea fans aren't glory hogs. The just became fans because blue is a lucky in Asia. In the noughtie's.

Arsenals worldwide supporter base isn't as a result of a few seasons about a decade ago. The vast gooner army of Shanghai just happened to love Wegner's special brand of football and really appreciated all the hardwork he put into building the side.

Oh yeah, and Every Liverpool fan has a scouser uncle. Even the ones from Kuala Lumpur.

Because they won stuff operating on a budget that 3/4's of the premier league couldn't hope to compete with then.

It's amazing how spending money helps you go well.

Wenger spent money too...to the point where the Invicibles only had one regular starter would have qualified under UEFA's homegrown rule as an Arsenal product...

It wasn't like that before the Russians and Arabs got involved.
Jesus wept, have you heard of Jack Walker? I guess you wouldn't have since you jumped on the bandwagon after he bought the little town of Blackburn an EPL title.

No one has ever spent money in the history of football to buy a title before those mucky foreign types got involved...ever.

Relative to what? Oh noes! Poor widdle babies now have to competition in the transfer market. awww...

They spent big on De Gea and on Jones....

Hopefully with us being guaranteed CL football we can sign good players.
But, but BUYING BAD...'Developing' players is the way forward. Don't spunk another wad on a useless German defender this year...

Yeah, but if we're talking silverware:

Liverpool- Carling Cup Winners
Everton- Trophyless since 1995

It puts it a little more in perspective, bearing also in mind that a crap season by Liverpool's standards is considered a good season by Everton's standards...

Don't bother arguing with Bunnesman, T-Ba.

He does not know what he is talking about.

City rightful English champions.

LOL at those saying we won trophies because of money. We have a net positive transfer budget over the entire history of the premier league. There's relegated teams that have spent more than us.

And Cliffy, I didn't say City are "wrongful" champions. They were the best team this season. No arguments about that. But they could only do it by spending a ridiculous amount of money. If they were limited to spending as much as United or Arsenal they would never have got close.

Hopefully something like that happens with FFP.

And Arsenal are destined to never win the Premier League or Champions League in the foreseable future under your current business model. You will be also-rans constantly coming 3rd and 4th.

In this day and age (not City's fault -- they have only done what is necessary) you need to spend big. It is world football.

Enjoy your net fecking positive transfer budget and always finising 3rd and 4th.

Spending big is not exactly smart business in the current European economic environment....

But the way the PL has become, it is immpossible to win it (or the CL) without outlay.

Arsenal under their current set-up were 19 points behind City and Trafford. So they will constantly finish 3rd-5th, never win the CL and may win the odd League or FA cup.

You sure about that?

Definitely been sellers, for almost a decade now, but it would appear Arsenal using bought more than they sold when they were a success sweetheart ;-)

I don't really get the argument. This isn't a salary capped sport. Are the 'peasants' just meant to accept the fact that they'll never be able to compete with the big boys for all eternity? And if they happen to have a good run, it's the divine right of the games powerhouses to tear their squad to pieces?

Newcastle is going to probably get torn to shreds this summer with no guarantees they can replace like for like. What a great reward for investing wisely...

FFP will last as long as it takes for Real Madrid to end up in the poo poo financially again. It's a pipe dream with a million loop holes and frankly has an excellent chance of killing alot of the romance of the sport.

Man City won the jackpot. I wish them sustained success so that their global fan base can rival the other big English clubs and we're not stuck with the four same bland ones.
