The rule should just be that Canberra can never host a prelim, under any circumstance ever.

I think this is a fair point actually. Canberra had one of their more successful seasons for a long time, yet their average crowds this year were lower than newcastle. That's poor for a one-city team. NRL can't rely on fairweather fans to come to the finals.

don't get caught up in the past , we're not the Sharks who had it hang around their necks for 50 years
times are changing
and anyway we went close in 2016 , but , im glad we didn't host it , & the most ludicrous finals policy in professional sport was enacted & we played the game in Sydney.

best our first prelim weve earnt the right to host in the NRL era be played in Canberra where it should be
