Seriously though would it be a good a idea to float the NRL?

Yeah but people in Adelaide give even less of a f**k then your mates.
Do you think having a leagues club in the original location is enough to ensure fans continue supporting the team if it relocates?
So what does this prove that everyone loves a novelty..Rams got a bigger crowd avg 23 years ago than sharks got last year. Just saying.
It would depend on the individual and the club. Some people would refuse to continue support no matter what out of protest, and thats fair, but if the relocated club made an effort to still cater for the original location via "away" memberships and events at the leagues club it should be able to maintain some fans, especially with the number of games that would still be in Sydney.Do you think having a leagues club in the original location is enough to ensure fans continue supporting the team if it relocates?
Of course they'd notice, I've never argued that people wouldn't be upset at losing their club (assuming that they did actually lose their club, because, again, you don't have to kill a club to remove it from a competition). So no one would notice if they cull Canberra like they did in a few other sports
And only got half their crowds 22 years ago. Just double talk sayin.Rams got a bigger crowd avg 23 years ago than sharks got last year. Just saying.

In the current climate it wouldn't make any sense to get rid of the Raiders (I can see them potentially relocating though), but If the Raiders were to fold for any reason it'd suck for us Raiders fans, but Raiders fans are just as replaceable as any other fan base.
BTW, the only Canberra club (of the major sports) that has been kicked out of a comp that I can remember is the Cosmos, and even then they manged to argue their way back into the NSL before promptly going broke before the season started again anyway.
Honestly, very few people even noticed when the Cosmos went broke, which is the main reason why it was inevitable.
Telling Wayne Pearce to get off the turps is an interesting concept. They couldn't start 28th May.
I realise these people they don't care about the sacred heart of League - all it is Money. Most CEO's and some coaches also.
I played for many years and my Misses and my kids would greatly consider putting out until the start of July. Everything now is money - not the best interest of players and families. League now is cow manure who control the game. That Balmain legend - I'm greatly disappointed with him...you should get of the turps like your son. I'm a little younger than him...but I saw the exploits with his teammates around rozelle. I few wouldn't be arrested now.
Whilst many wring their hands at the perilous state of rugby league...and considering this brave new world we're in, where there won't be a zac to rub, how the hell will AFL justify sinking $50m p.a. on GWS and Gold Coast Suns??
interestingly read yesterday all their clubs have agreed to dramatically reduce FC spending if needed to keep the comp competitive if the smaller clubs have less revenue and afl can’t keep paying the larger grants.
They really do buy in to the growth of their sport. I think the AFL clubs love AFL while the NRL clubs do not love Rugba League.
they also don’t feel the need to run the game unlike our mob who would much prefer an EPL or ESL set up where they ran the top tier and got 90% of the funding independent of the sport.
