1988 Parra vs Manly.

I still remember it like yesterday, my father and i wen't to Parra stadium to watch what we thought a fight back of the Parramatta Eels are an injury plagued 87 season.

We had won our first 2 games off 88, first of all crushing Newcastle in their first ever home game, and then defeating the Tigers at Parra stadium.

Unfortunatley, in the game against the Tigers, Kenny suffered a serious knee injury, at first he thought he could still keep playing if he done excessive amounts of physio on it, unfortunately before the Manly game he wen't to pick up his child and his knee gave way just from that, and from then on he knew their was know way he could play, and surgery was the only solution which meant goodbye to him.

The game started off great for Parra, we scored the first try, but Manly responded very quickly, then parra scored again to lead 12-6 midway through the first half, but then in an amazing 60 minute period, Manly destroyed Parramatta and put their golden era to a sudden holt.

Manly eventually won 64-12, Sterlo couldn't so anything as Manly where simply awesome, me and my father walked out at about 54-12. we had had enough.

It wasn't the greatest initiation for me, but i had to start somewhere.

What is everybody else first Parra game & where?

I'm almost certain that Bert did his knee in the week before against Balmain, in fact I remember seeing him assisted of by the 2 trainers at the time, and thought right there and then our season is phucked!

1969 as a five year old vs St George at Cumberland Oval.

The first one I really, really enjoyed though was the 1975 Wills Cup Final (pre season comp) at the old Sydney Sports Ground.

You old man Suity.

I don't remember exactly - it would have been late 70's, maybe 78 or 79 - when I was about 7....I remember watching Parra play Wests at the dust bowl (Cumberland Oval).

I also have quite strong memories of going to watch this "games" thing that the Parra players did pre-season....the players were in teams and they had to do all these obstacle course and strenght and speed things....kinda like "Its a Knockout"...hahaha  ....that was quite a while ago - at the old Cumberland Oval...I have no idea what players were even there except Mick Cronin cos he was my hero. :D

This is a tester

early 60s Parra V Balmain

I remmember Keith Barnes kicked off for the Tigers and it went through the goals, and I thought it was 2 points, until my dad filled me in.

I was probably about 10 years old.
