i guess the ages of some people or the limited experience in following both Rugby League and Parra makes some sort of sense out of some of the attitudes or comments on this board.....

Anyone in particular?

I don't consider myself old either. Thanks mate.

And I do consider myself lucky to have seen All Parramatta's victories, Thats maybe why seasons like the last three disappoint me greatly.

young but wise hey suity!

I was pretty young but remember Ken Thornett having a big game along with Bobby Bugden, Brian Hambly and Ron Lynch. For Saints Raper, Gasnier and Provan were giving us plenty. It was the game where Gasnier broke through and then fell over as if he was shot when his medial ligament snapped, was absolute silence in the crowd as no one knew what happened.

Thing I remember most about that season was Thornett only played the middle of the season and we never lost a game while he was here and never won a game when he wasn't. Made the semis for the first time that year but went down to wests 6-5.

The first PArra game I went to was the 1977 grand final. My sister and I won tickets in a competition. In those days(the old ones) the hill was just first in best dressed so lots of ppl camped over night to get the best spots. My sister and I devised another plan -(this plan was based on extensive knowledge of the workings of the teenage boys mind ;-) )We were one of the first few ppl to get in and had a great spot just on the try line.We watched as Mick Cronin lined up and took that fateful goal.It wasn't until last year when I watched that kick- curtesy of a ST George supporting friend- that I was convinced that the goal didnt go in

I would say some time around 77 or 78 ...... it would have been against Norths cause the whole family are / were Norths supporters

I'm still at a loss to work out why my sister and myself ended up following Parra ....
