Gone!

Hull KR swoop for Fitzhenry the finisher

Hull KR's preparations for a second season in Super League have led them to sign the Australian utilty back Daniel Fitzhenry. The 27-year-old has been granted a release by Wests Tigers and has agreed a two-year contract with another year option.
Rovers secured their top-flight status with Sunday's 42-6 win at Hull FC, and had already signed the New Zealand three-quarter Jake Webster and the Wakefield wing Peter Fox. Fitzhenry, Wests' record try scorer, is expected to be joined by his Tigers team-mate Ben Galea before the end of the week. The club held talks with the Hull full-back Shaun Briscoe last night, although he has also been targeted by Wigan and Wakefield.

Dissapointing that Galea didn't get a proper send off - thats poor.

Ben Galea was a very good clubmen.

Arguably the best player on the field in the 2005 Grand Final

Although his form was average the last 2 years, he always had a dig.

I wasn't at the game on Friday, but if the club did nothing, obviously aware he was going, well that is poor. They even gave a leach like Sattler a send off in 2004 at our last home game, What a joke.

As for Fitzhnery, good riddance. Thanks for not f**king up in the Grand Final when you did so on many other occasions.

Well it was reported for weeks that Galea was going, so they must have known. Darren f**king Senter got a send off at Leichhardt which even included a lap of "honour", and Galea gets nothing.

P1ss poor if you ask me.

Thats a shame about Galea! As a shark supporter benny is my favourite player in the NRL...don't ask me why i just like his style! IMO should have been selected in the city team at the very least! If NSW didn't have such good 2nd rowers he should have been in there aswell...but then again steve simpson got picked! WTF!

Eddie:

Fitzhenry did f**k up in the grand final. He got the ball stripped with 3 to go that led to the Sing try (who'd have thought they'd go for a 1 on 1 strip down by 12 in a grand final with 3 to go). Only Hannay's miss spared us golden point (and no doubt another cruel loss). We were wobbling mate and I dread to think what would have happened if Hannay had have kicked it.

The man was a liability and I (like countless others) will be glad to see the back of him. The half arsed running, the doughnuts, the sh*t games at 5/8, the fumbles, the not keeping up with play when his centre pops a pass out, the 6m games, the headers when trying to catch a bomb.

A f**king clown like the spastic coach that picks him.

Right Morris and Junior Burger next ... banners are being finger painted as we speak in K2 at Orange Grove Public. MWO .. Morris/Macca World Order. Boots are being bought for signing, T shirts at the screen printers.

Thank you Hull KR. I am eternally grateful for you taking this waste of space off our hands

He hasnt signed anywhere yet. What can the club do, as far as a send-off goes, when a player signs to go elsewhere in the off season?

Eddie--I think you are being a bit tough on Fitzy, it wasnt his fault that Sheens got the printer to put his name on the blank team sheets.

Fitzy won us a few games and lost us a few, probably a good reggie player with the odd good FG game in him but to tell you the truth he wasnt holding a better player back. Although Sheens never recruited anyone that would make him look bad, thats why he went for smokey moodie this year

Its shocking that such a clubman like Benny G got nothing, even though everyone knew he was going. He was always one of my favorites and I wish him all the luck.

As for fitzhenry...

i'm onto my 42nd box of tissues because i can't stop crying

such a loss. such a champion!
farewell lionhearted winger!
the banners are already being sent to Hull

You would think ronald would have had fitzy's bags packed for him so junior burger would be getting a start on the wing. Ronald must be spewing almost as much as us that Fitzy isn't gone
