Five fastest players in the NRL

James Roberts is insanely quick. Both acceleration and length of the field. I'd say korobiete and mead up there with him but would be surprised if anybody would beat roberts.

Brett Morris another who seems to accelerate quickly and not slow down, beating Johnston (who is very quick) to the ball after Johnston chipped over him was remarkable.

Mead n Roberts both 11 sec over the distance. Apparently Kori has done it quicker. My money would be on him

Johnson ran down Koribete last week fairly easily.

In my opinion, over 100m Koroibete would beat him - an important factor is the impact of the guy carrying the ball & a lot of the time the defender is running a different angle which can make the chase much easier ( as they're covering less ground )

We need to resolve this definitively.

It would be great to have a sprint championship the day before the grand final, with each club sending out its two fastest in heats of 8. That would make four heats, with the top 4 going into two semi finals, and the top 4 in each semi-final going to the final on the day of the grand final. Only problem with the timing is that if the final 8 included players from the two grand finalists, those players would be withdrawn by their clubs out of fear that they would pull a hamstring. So maybe we should hold this sprint contest mid season, or better still preseason.

Kori was zigging and zagging to beat the full back, Johnson was running a dead straight line though
I did rewatch that a few times, he was a meter ahead of Johnston by the time he turned. Being able to turn and accelerate off the mark that quick is impressive though

Or better still, who gives a shit and not run it at all.

That definitively resolves things.

Would rather watch a player doing that thing...ummm play rugby league than pull a hammy to quell your thirst for useless information,

Id rather have jennings accleration and quick change of direction than Koribeites top end speed.

Edit: Or Roberts top end speed and acceleration, he is pretty freakish.

Shaun Johnson has ran down all that has been mentioned (He's the fastest within 50m). I could rub it in and show the links for each occasion but can't be bothered plus I'm at work. Note: The run down Johnson did on Tedesco ill give Tedesco the BOTD as he was carrying or just recovering from a Leg injury but still the man has a lot of acceleration of the mark.

James Roberts?

Running someone down doesnt mean you are faster though, not always. As has been mentioned Korobete wasnt running straight when he got caught by Johnson. That being said Johnson would be one of the fastest but i would put Roberts over him for sure.

If reports of Koroibete running a 10.66 when he was a teenager are correct I highly doubt anyone is quicker than that.

I think if Koroibete, Roberts, Meade and Johnson raced over 100 you'd find Korra behind at 30 but steaming home in the last 40 to win quite comfortably.

It depends dude.
Sometimes people are coached really well - in regard to sprinting - and they can pretty much crack their top speed within 10 or so metres.
Particularly the shorter guys seem to get their quicker but have slightly higher times at the end of the 100m.
The ability to propel from the standing start has a fair bit to do with it.
I'm a bit over 6ft and I used to crack the 100m sprint in 10.43 at best, but I didn't accelerate that well - I also could not use it to great effect in football either.
A bloke I used to go to school with was close to cracking 9 seconds for the 100m but he was a freak who probably should have devoted himself to it and went to the Olympics, he instead played some footy in the Newcastle League and is now obese.

^^^^ Yes if he was close to running the 100m half a second faster than the WW in school he probably should have become a sprinter.

I think Rose would be faster than Plum.
