Flanno's New Signings

For those that didn't know myself included I was under the impression we only had 1 spot left in our top 30 next season but Flanno on 2gb this afternoon said we 3 have spots left & 3 spots on our supplementary list.
He didn't say what the spots covered - that is who will go to create the 3 vacant spots?

That means we have 1 moved 1 player on (we just don't know who)..

We also have 4 development spots unconfirmed, but 99% sure LKT is the extra one there.. again just unannounced.

Excuse me if I am kind of stupid on this topic. So does this mean that we can go out and buy we more players for the 30? Even before moving Hunt? That would be a lot.

Feel a lot better if we could offload rava and lawrie also so we had 5 spots to fill
They unfortunately have contracts to the end of 2026 - so 2 more years we could have them. Rava has been told he is free to negotiate but not so for Lawrie.

You just never know qld redvee, these two might have a very good pre-season getting weights right, getting fitter, becoming stronger physically and mentally and then worthy to keep for the duration of their contracts - which could also be good for the KOE Cup team.

If we currently have 3 spots in the top 30 to fill I think Flanno will definitely be going for a big middle prop and a "fast back" and keep the last spot free for the new year just to see what sort of player he needs to complete the squad - a half back to back up Hunt maybe - Hunt might go or stay depending on his attitude I guess because I don't think that he will be captain like we all are hoping.

In Flanno we trust - who else? Oh, and I'm hoping Flanno can leverage something to get Steve Price back to the Dragons.

Definitely hoping worst case scenario is we can only move on one of Lawrie or Rav.
To have 4/5 roster spots to fill would put us into a strong position to pick up a few quality recruits.
Hoping Lawrie is the one to go first.
Has been mentioned here before, but if Rav is to stay on, I would also like to see him transitioned into the forwards next year.

People have suggested moving Rava into the forwards. Not saying that is a good idea, but some game time as a forward in reserves might motivate him to try to go to the UK.

IMO Ravas problem is his defence or lack there of, I think it’s bey redemption unfortunately so best to move him on ASAP.
It is unfortunate for Rava how things have turned out for him. I think that with his form dropping this year and that he has been told that he is free to negotiate with any other club, here or wherever, he will be totally frustrated and yet he will train really hard to maybe get Flanno to rethink the situation.

The thing with Rava is that he isn't the "sharpest tool in the shed". My thing with anyone is that you have got to use your "head" and think "ahead" to get "ahead" - always try something that is a bit different if things are not going your way.

We still need 2 big props. We also need to offload Hunt and sign a really good halfback to replace him.

All the talk of replacing Hunt, finding a new halfback to replace him etc....the fact remains that we can't unless he wants to go. He has all the cards in his favour for 2025. Regardless of whether he gets dropped to NSW Cup, plays off the bench, or in the 7 for 1st grade....he is still going to be paid the same money. If he does stay for 2025, I just hope Flanno replaces him as captain.
