Good luck guys with Ilias he’s a good kid but he’s a manufactured halfback. Defensively pretty good solid kid, short kicking game has shown, long kicking game very poor, lacks creativity and does everything half a second too slow for first grade. I’m not sure 7 is his best position. Wayne said he didn’t want Lachy if he’s coming back to Souths he told the club I need a halfback. I guess the upside on Lachy is he’s still young. I do think it’s a downgrade from Ben Hunt a big one but you are strengthening other positions in the squad. Anyway good luck but he does have a lot errors in his game maybe 6 is his best position he runs the ball well but he’s no game manager that’s for sure
God I wish you rabbits would go back down the hole and take that other naysayer with you.
What about "if you can't say something nice about someone don't say anything at all".
Time will tell what Flanno can do with this player.

So was it Illias's fault that Souths finished 16th this year? The guy only played 2 games.
I think alot more happened at Souths than just Illias being crap
Absolutely agree Wayne’s World , certainly cannot place any blame upon the young man’s shoulders whatsoever .

I am afraid that our visitor from another planet is simply unaccepting of the fact that the wabbits big name players failed to perform - at all .

However simply put Souths were never up to the task and showed that in no uncertain terms by their on - field efforts .

But that’s for the master coach to sort out now and you can bet pounds to peanuts that Bennett will not tolerate his star player going out on the town and returning with those little white bags of star- dust .

Well, we've just lost the two most error prone players in the comp. And the only creative thing Hunt did all year was 'kick it to Lomax' so I don't think Ilias will be that much of a downgrade...

I did say a few positive things in there mate about a few good attributes I wasn’t all negative. Sorry I didn’t wish to rile anyone up I felt I was fair and balanced in what I said

Thanks for the insights, maybe a change in environment brings out the best in him. I've heard similar to what you've said about Ilias. He's definitely a work in progress, whether that be at nrl level or reserve grade, we'll find out.

I don’t care what Ilias did or didn’t do at Souths. I think he was overshadowed by some bigger personalities, much the same as young Flanno whenever Hunt played and called all the shots.
As far as I’m concerned it’s a clean slate and I’m willing to get behind him 💯.
This is a bit how I feel about it. Can’t say I’m thrilled about the signing but now he’s here and Flanno has decided he’s the best fit available for ‘25 I’ll throw my support behind him and hope it works out.
I’m just happy Hunt is gone.

I don't feel like anything you said was unfair or a bashing, you were just giving us an insight into the player you believe we are getting.

I will say & hope that he is just a stop gap and Atkinson or Wishart are the real targets for 2026. If Ilias ends up being better than what people thought, even better but I don't think Flanno plans for him to be the long term half. Not the dominant one anyway but will have to see what happens.

I would rather a player who will be on approx $300k, trying and giving it his best because of the chance we have given him than a player who is on a Million Bucks not giving a shit about anything except himself. Yeah sure Ilias maybe a complete dud, but I ask you all this question, what's the difference to what we just had ? To me it will be $700k without the constant sooking on, the whinging the whining, no leadership etc That in itself has us 1000% better off to what we were regardless of how Ilias turns out. I hope the kid kills it and if he doesn't, hey we knew the risk anyway, move on.
