Flanno's New Signings

This is a bit how I feel about it. Can’t say I’m thrilled about the signing but now he’s here and Flanno has decided he’s the best fit available for ‘25 I’ll throw my support behind him and hope it works out.
I’m just happy Hunt is gone.

Ok fair enough i never followed hunt closely but I know for a fact hunt is a top notch player and ilias is the worst #7 since i followed/watched the game from 1960. infact i cant see him playing at any position on the paddock.many say he could be a #9 im not too sure about that as I've only seen him play #7 but I can tell you now he has no idea how to run a team around the paddock no idea whatsoever becoz he is a second grade player at best.how players of his calibre get into 1st grade is beyond me looks like the gates have opened to allow reggies players play first grade anyway im a truth teller and some people can't cop the truth but they'll find out in 2025 about lachlan ilias the #7 reggies player he will end up playing for wests in the local derby infact he would be lucky to crack a #7 spot at the butchers in thirroul.

I think Bennett will have a hard time, especially with Cook gone & Murray missing a large part of the season. Walker body looks cooked, he's a bit too emotional & Latrell floats in n out of the season. You can't rely on them providing consistent performances.

I think a change of scenery for Ilias would be good for him. He can fly under the radar a bit more at the Dragons with everyones low expectations of him.
I agree with most of what you are saying but I have learnt never to underestimate the great man.

If ever a souths vs saints grand final occurred hire a fireman's ladder to look over the walls of the stadium becoz you won't get anywhere near the place. privately I hope one day I can get to see these 2 great teams of old do battle those were the days in the early 60"s in particular.i bet very few of you remember the saints winger called Stanley Gorton my dad use to flick him a comb each game to comb his hair on the wing which stan was famous for my dad and stan used a hair tonic called sprusso in the old days.

Yes I do remember Stan the man , a good finisher for the Saints and plenty of tries to boot .

I must admit that he did have a rather zippy hair style , however I later discovered that the reason was that it gave him extra speed when in open space .

He's missing some pace to compare him to Dearden.
I wasn't comparing him to Dearden the player, I was comparing him to Dearden's situation. When I saw him play for the Broncos I didn't think he went too bad, especially as he was just a kid, but he seemed to cop the blame for their crap year. He went to Nth Qld and flourished.

I'm just hoping young Ilias can do something similar.

wothout knowing for sure, the biggest issue I see with Illias and Kyle is the kicking game, in particular the long kicking.

I think we have a Good backline, and I think a decent plan will be put I place to use them. Based on Kyle’s last season, I’m not concerned that will be able to do a decent job. Add in Gutho steering the team around, and the speed of our hookers I’m sure it can work, but know how important a long kicking game can be when you’re under pressure. Game management and control is a lot about the kicks, and we have suffered in that department for a long time. I’m just not convinced these younger halves can do it. But again, I see the buold and trust Flanno

Hunts long kicking game was appalling, nothing lost there.
