We wont get Sexton (dogs or broncs), Pezet as an Anasta kid also wont be coming here.. Fogarty I would love but again will be rly surprised if Raiders will let him go.. Cole I dunno if hes a man manager or a 6, if indeed penrith want to let him go and ride it all on Talagi?

I've noticed you have really polar views on potential players i.e. 'hard in' or 'hard out', but young halves always end up on the scrap-heap when a side struggle .. they are rejects until another coach picks them up and work to their skills.. and then everyone is shocked (aka Fogarty and Sexton), if we are going to replace Hunt it has to be a man manager rdy to go 'now', cant be a kid.... of all the roles in the team, a 7 I think is the one who has to be experienced.

LKT seems a pure 6 and getting better in cup but I would not be rushing the 19yr old.. I dont think it'll be good for his future or us.. that extra 12mths in nsw cup makes such a difference, but it wont solve our 7 problem anyway (unless its Kyle).
The answer isn’t Kyle

If he can’t dominate proceedings on the field when his dad is coach then he never will.

Handy roster player and that’s all.

He was let go by other clubs for a reason.

Yeah record breaking try assists for Hunt…….but still perceived as the biggest problem at The Dragons ? Which he is not !

But rightfully called out…..his kicking game is his weakness vs the best in the comp.

Yet equally we don’t have a better option that will come to the club vs Hunt. So let’s build the other key players around that. Stop putting our head in the sand as supporters. We can’t attract better in the halves. That is all she wrote.

our forwards have so much work to do to be a true top8 through to top4 team

We just don’t do the 2009/10 grind out games through defence and then come over the top thru attack

the Dogs show incredible scramble in defence and dangerous attacking players

that game last night pissed me off

Lachlan ilias is available
miles ahead of Hunt for his organising game and kicking game and is a solid defender

With every club loss in the NRL fans always criticise their halves. Look at Reynolds when he was out injured Bronco fans were still criticising him when he was not even on the field. The old theory is very true the forwards have to be going forward to give the halves time and room to play well. When our forwards go well Hunt and Flanagan are instrumental in our win. Our forwards do get overwhelmed in crucial periods in our losing games. Flanno in who we trust has said numerous times we need at least one big front row bopper. If we can land that elusive marque front rower signature even better 2 of them with lots of go forward in them our many more wins will have us chasing a top 4 position.
Go the DRAGONS!

Watching at the game last night … Hunt has no one to take the pressure off him… K Flan is a passenger and Sloan is still young and passive. If he is off his game, we have nobody to step into the void
Was there pressure on him when he threw the intercept for the first try? What about when he kicked it dead?
Good halfbacks rise above pressure anyway.

You think the same as me VD, I most certainly agree.

it's a rather crude boil-down to cherry pick one or two moments, all halves make errors... not debating that.
Was it just me But watching two of our future signings in action left me completely underwhelmed
Safiti@ Newc was slow , laborious and disinterested
Holmes@Cows was completely out played by Staggs
Hopefully these are signs only of being distracted and disillusioned with their current Clubs as the reach for the Exit door
Didnt fill me with a lot of optimism

What I like to see in a middle forward is consistently hitting the line of the defence very hard and either breaking through or be able to off load and being able to defend with punishing tackles. Being very tough and resilient. Not sure if D Saifiti has those traits and if he ever did.

With Holmes, his form has dropped a fair bit but he still has that experience that we need and I am sure Flanno can get him back to be what we need. Staggs would be a good centre to have at the club. Can run over opposition, pretty good in defence, can kick goals and has plenty of experience. I think he might want to stay at the Broncos and stay in Queensland.

To me we cannot afford to just get who will come to us if they are just a little better than average. We need very, very good but I know there are not that many coming on the market and they would go to the "better" clubs in any case.

Holmes has had a poor year for sure, still has plenty of class though and hasn't reached 30 yet. Good goal kicker too and I trust this year won't be his usual output going forward. Saifiti has never been that good, he was hyped up coming into first grade because he was a big guy who dominated lower grades at Newcastle and their fans thought he and his brother were going to be the messiahs. He's lazy, unfit, and generally disinterested. The talent is there though, so if Flano thinks he can get the best out of him then it will turn into a good signing. I would imagine this is why he's being so firm on how much he's willing to pay though, because Saifiti is a risk. If he decides to turn up for us next year and the fresh start helps him, then he could quickly become a solid starting front rower or a devastatingly impactful forward off the bench. But, expecting him to be that star prop we need will only lead to disappointment - he isn't that player. He only has the potential to be an important cog in the wheel at his max, he is not 'the guy'
