Haven't read the whole thread, but I agree that it is petty.

Don't see what the threat of him running the water for Tonga is. Is the administration run by schoolgirls?

Who cares if they do or don't let him run the water for Tonga.

A nothing story. Just go to AFL and be done with it Izzy. Bye.

Courier Mail had this story as the back page feature. The Herald Sun had it earlier in the week.

It was in every major paper in Australia.

Carr is a twat.

Folau has mentioned that his family are pressuring him to turn his back on the game for good. He said being left out of the Grand Final parade of players leaving hurt him the most.

Carr is right.

If you, for example, worked at, let's say Woolworths and you left to go to Coles, but you wanted to go back and make everyone coffee at Woolies, do you think the Woolies boss would be happy with that or would he tell you to piss off?

Folau needs to just move on and get on with his AFL career. He isn't helping AFL with this whiny bitch stuff so I hope he keeps it up.

The bit I still like though is AFL picking up a bloke because he was born in Minto. Just forget that he played for The Broncos, The Storm and Queensland, who all have massive followings in Western Sydney.

Massive LOL's

Media monitors can give column inches value, but will the publicity be positive in the market it needs to be (Western Sydney)? It may give GWS and Izzy some sympathisers in AFL markets, however it seems to be having the totally opposite effect in Western Sydney.

To think that Folau thought he'd be welcomed in the Grandfinal farewell is just delusional.

You made your bed, now lie in it Izzy.... You've got a massive contract for the next few years, however unless you become a superstar in AFL you will not be seeing the anything like it ever again. The AFL will churn and burn you if you do not succeed. Your future earning potential in Rugby League has just dived, and well the union boys don't have the bunce anymore.

Rugby League owes you nothing. Good luck, you're going to need it.

You're right- its a nothing story. For that reason, I haven't followed the storyline too closely.

Hindyscrack is right too- Rugby League owes Folau nothing.

The party I feel sorry for here is Tonga. If Queensland were allowed to pick him and play him, then Tonga should be allowed to do the same. If the administration can't stomach that, whatever...its a double standard, but that's not uncommon. But if Tonga feels that it would be advantageous to them for Folau to run the water, why deny Tonga that? You're not punishing Folau, you're punishing Tonga and the game's development in Tonga.

i wonder if Folau told them he is against RL and would be encouraging people not to play it

he said that at his GWS press conference

No he didn't.

afraid so

i watched it

he was asked by a journalist how would he feel encouraging kids to play AFL instead of RL

he said that he wouldn't have a problem with it

Hunt was asked a similar question

he answered saying he'd tell kids to play the sport they enjoyed, not actually encourage one over another

Maybe you should watch it again.

He didn't say it in that press conference, he did say it earlier in the year though. Which seemed completely out of the blue.

Even then though, he didn't say it like that and you know it.
