He can shove his vile, hate-filled psycho babble.

I doubt my company would give him a job.

The rest of us would resign on the spot.
Yes, I wonder how the other Dragons' players feel about this person that if he joins the squad they would resign on the spot?

In my opinion, this attempt to have Folau join the Dragons will not be successful as the NRL won't go back on their earlier decision. Granted, he has been a great athlete in the sports he has played and maybe he would help us win a few games but overall he has done more harm with the things that he has said and his inclusion in our squad will be at the expense of several promising younger players who very well might be as good as Folau one day.

Our recruitment has been struggling. McInnes not re-signed, not getting guys like Welch, getting some highlights on the media with other possibilities like Folau, not so far being able to sign up tough forwards which they originally identified as being needed by the club.

They should put Folau off their agenda forthwith and focus on the forwards.

A club with a winning culture, or one that wants to develop a winning culture, doesn’t sign a guy like this.

The argument that there are other tools in the game, so we should accommodate this one, is also pretty poor.

Plenty of us weren't happy about Packer being allowed back in the game either..

As for De Belin, he is entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty. We should reserve judgement until the judicial process has run its course.
Pretty sure they have proven he had sex don't think he denied that so Sex is ok still. It's just the girl and prosecution are trying to prove he forced the girl to have sex that is not ok. But yes the charges against him are not proven so there's no problem. Free speech is ok but not in China.

A couple of excerpts from Fox Sports readers . Food for thought .

Folau actually mentioned 8 categories of sinners , yet ( as the Fox Sports reader mentioned ) the media did only concentrate on the gay category - why was that ?

Why were the drunks and adulterers , thieves etc. etc. not up in arms about their good names being slurred ?

I can't believe how many Dragons fans are against this (especially on Facebook) when Saints signed Russell Packer who did something much worse than Folau
Some people agree with you because on the surface it looks like double standards. But there are fundamental flaws in this argument:

Firstly, Packer showed remorse, gave up drinking and was punished. He paid his dues.
Secondly, Folau has shown no remorse and may do the same thing again, regardless of whatever agreement he signs.

Wow indeed...mate...either people don’t get it...they don’t care...or they believe in what he says.
Your post is mostly correct
You forgot the ones where people disagree with what he said and are vocal and angry.
But nevertheless you’re just summing up society today with divisive opinions and reactions

because people who are gay do not have a choice.

I think everyone is forgetting the big picture.
Surely Corey wouldn't be able to handle a god botherer being on his case and judging him, forcing him to leave.
Then Ben will feel extra nervous after possibly being elevated to leadership status, with extra focus being put on his performance, forcing him to leave too.
Then, we have the focus of Folau's twitter account instead of Jack's trial while our younger players get more development.
Folau then rides off into the sunset with pockets full of cash and we finally have a team to be proud of.

2 year plan.

I'll repeat what I've said before when others have tried to put this up as an argument... I'll try to jazz it up a bit this time...

Come back to me when atheists, adulterers etc are getting been bashed and murdered for being who they are, while the law turned a blind eye. In Australia, homosexuality only became legal in 1994. It wasn't that long ago that 'puftah bashing' was considered a national sport.

The LGBT community have every reason to be concerned about hate speech against them, because they know how easy it can be to see a return to those times.

As an atheist / drunk / sex magnet, I don't give a shit because being burnt at the stake for being a heretic went out of fashion long before I was born.

Hey BLM01, have you found those examples yet of Folau being a victim of hate speech since this story broke?

Why are some people so certain Falou will bring in $$$$?

Surely it would turn a segment of the fanbase away from attending matches and possibly some minor sponsors away too. I'm 26 years old and know a fair few fellow Saints fans on the younger side who will 100% cancel their memberships.

All the Dragons supporters on the NRL reddit seem furious too.

Am I the only one who just wants to see Dragons field a decent side? We have lost a truckload of talent and leadership, we've been denied an appropriate amount of compensation for De Belin, and we've missed out on a handful of elite players due to our stench as a club so maybe we just have to get this done.

If Folau has actually learnt his lesson and will remain quiet on these topics then he should be given a go as his play will benefit the club.

I probably don't agree with most people's and player's ideologies on many subjects but that doesn't bother me as long as it isn't rammed down people's throats and broadcast far and wide.

Just get on with footy. Get some quality players wearing the red v jersey.

I do love how people just don’t get what the concept of “free speech” actually is...

It doesn’t mean you can say whatever you like and not have people shout you down if it’s harmful..

Free speech simply means the you won’t get a knock on the door from the government simply for expressing your opinion...

Unless of course you’re saying something illegal...

Point taken , however I would much prefer the L& G‘s to drop the ‘ community ‘ from their title as to me it is as if they are some type of exclusive society that places them above those of the mainstream . They seem to have ostracized themselves from the rest of the population.

No Big Red V you are not the only one.
I want a winning culture and Folau has it.
All he did is express his view . He did not break the law he only did what democracy applies to. FREE SPEECH
The irony of seeing FREE SPEECH in caps.

What are your views on hate speech ?

Not at all. The Mardi Gras is very inclusive and everyone is welcomed.

Do you feel the same way about the Aboriginal community? How about the Greek community? Or the Rugby League community? Or how about all my good friends the sex magnet community? We are all people in one big community.
