Folkes to be sacked from Dragons

I think it is pretty obvious. Everyone here rates him so highly. The problem isn't with Folkes but with everyone stating how important his contribution is to a winning team.

I'm sure he is good but I fail to see how he is better than any other strength and conditioning coach or head coach or secondary coach out there.

Seems like a decent guy. He probably goes okay but he isn't some god like messiah.

He's not the saviour, but bringing him back in a assistant coaching or head of conditioning role and shafting Royce and Skando is another step forward. It won't hurt Potter to have an experienced head who has won a premiership in the NRL to bounce ideas off either. Success isn't just determined by the coach and players, they need the best support staff to bring out the best.

He is certainly better than the support staff Potter has been left with.

For starters his appointment can save us money by operating in a dual mode as assistant coach as well as strength and conditioning thus elininating the the payroll to Sizzler and Scando.

this is a stupid argument.

compare 2010 & 2011 with 2012, thats a pretty good start.

no one said or insinuated he was, not even indirectly or remotely.

this is a stupid argument.

No its not. It is a rational and sane argument in the midst of a bunch of little school girls swooning over Harrison Craig.

compare 2010 & 2011 with 2012, thats a pretty good start.

This shows how dumb these arguments are. Sheens was the coach not Folkes. He didn't suddenly use his mystical powers and made the team perform. You should look up causation and correlation.

no one said or insinuated he was, not even indirectly or remotely.

You just did by stating that Folkes caused our good form in 2010 and 2011. Completely delusional.

Lol. 05 just goes against the grain for arguments sake.

Not really. I just read bullshit and call it for what it is.

If I said Moltzen was the cause of us winning in 2010 & 2011 I'd be shot down but it is more likely Moltzen was the cause than Folkes.

LOLtzen all the way to the bank!

I can imagine the drama on here if the headline was that we need Loltzen because he was why we were so good in 10/11.

The thing is it makes more sense than Folkes yet you are all creaming your pants over Folkesy.

Its crazy.

I am not saying this is the case with every injury we have had this year but injuries can and do occur when the players body is not prepared properly (before and after a game). I think back to 2010 and 2011, we were the fittest I can remember, muscle was present but not bulk that hampers speed and movement. Last but not least we had several players going for the full 80 minutes, I don't think that is the case so much now and I do attribute that to Folkes.

Folkes has a pretty decent football brain as well, he knows how to have players ready for a game and his defensive patterns are in my opinion better than most. The Dogs were always tough in their defence.

I rate him and I really think he would complement Potter more than most other options.

Adding Folkes and two powerhouse second rowers and we are contenders next year.

Sell Moltzen and preferably Benji too to finance it.

Anasta, Petty and Thompson.....thanks Sheens for your partng gift....just what we needed.

05 - why were we successful in 2010/11 compared to the surrounding years?
Once you've worked it out, look up correllation and causation again.

No it doesn't make more sense.

Folkes was here for 2010 and 2011 only.

The only staff member, player/coaching to have been.

Please don't make any further male genitalia or semen references. Completely unnecessary and excessively immature.

Just asked Grant Mayer on Twitter about approaching Folkes:

me: Question, has the club considered approaching Steve Folkes? Tigers went great when he was at the club
GM: he is a mate and we shared a latte 2 weeks back. Unsure.
