Is anyone attending the St.George Football Club AGM tonight ????

There are questions to be asked and answered and, if your a footy club member, it's your chance to have your say.
There have been meetings to drum up support for the current board and CEO, but if proper procedure is followed and the meeting doesn't turn into a sh*t fight, your questions have to be answered, your constitutionaly entitled to be "in the loop" with any business related to the club.

Apparently there is a lock-out situation and it may not go ahead.

Dr Doust and MC Brown are stuck at Northies, and there is some unrest outside.

Morning All,
Well an interesting night it was. For starters, Stage 1 of the Oki upgrade is costing
$8.8 mill. which includes lights, seating, turnstiles, kiosk and operations upgrades.
There was a net loss of $222,047 that included an operating loss of $125,708.
A master plan for further development has been called for to determine priorities for a scope of works to continue upgrading the ground.
NOW,
The loss of Michael Ennis to the "Nags" will not have an impact on the 2006 salary cap,
BUT, when someone (Guess Who) asked about the Lance payment, Mr. Tired and Emotional refused to answer due to the "confidentiality clause". When ? pointed out that he was not interested in the amount of the payment, only if there was an impact on the 2006 salary cap Mr. Tired and Emotional again called, "Confidentiality Clause".
The "person" then phrased the question a different way, and asked, " You have the first tier squad up there on the screen, beside payments made to those players, are there payments from anywhere else that are to be included in the 2006 cap ??
The answer......"No Comment"
WTF you would sign a confidentiality clause that stopped you informing your employers, the members, what was included in the clubs salary cap is beyond rational thinking.
? then pointed out to Mr.T&E that he was constitutionally bound to answer the question, the chairperson, Peter Black, intervened and said that He didn't want the meeting turning into a constitutional debate, the question was still left unanswered, despite calls from all around the room to provide a proper answer.
It was also said that Lance had asked for a termination and that the club spoke to all players, and that nobody in the top squad was being sacked.
It was also pointed out that Mr. Schubert had audited the cap books for 2005/06 and had given the "all clear" for both years.
The ST.George board know about the payment to Lance, and its ramifications, the NRL know, every typist knows, but WE DONT.
IT'S UTTER BULLSH*T.
I WILL FIND THE ANSWER AND WE WILL ALL KNOW THEN.
IMO, Mr.T&E wouldn't answer the question because he has "f**ked-up" and didn't want to embarrass himself in front of the members. If that's NOT true it's up to him to prove me wrong, the gig.

Personally it is a little concerning that they are putting the payment amount to each player up for all to see. It really should be no-ones business what player "x" recieves for his work other than the player, his manager and the employer.

Why do we need to know what he gets paid?

What Peter was saying last night which everyone didnt get (except the odd few) was the details of the agreement cannot be discussed. Peter cannot confirm or deny if a payment was made or he would be in breach of the agreement. I know Preacher you didnt ask for a figure but thats not the point. The legal team said he should not comment on anything to do with the agreement!!

Browny summed it up..........all have moved on so lets look forward to next season

How far does this "confidentiality clause" extend ??

The question is; Is our salary cap being calculated only by the players we are paying for 2006 or does it carry baggage. I am over Thommo going, sh*t happens, but it's a nice card to play when you've f**ked up to say, " my legal advice tells me I cant comment". BULLSHOT.
Until Doust can prove otherwise, he wouldn't say anything ABOUT THE CAP, because he has made a mess of it.
Show me I'm wrong and you'll get sick of hearing me apologise, until then,
IT'S A SMOTHER.

our salary cap is in order for this year and next year, so how is it messed up. We will always have salary cap problems when we are producing thr talent we have and will continue. If we want to keep this talent we have to make sacrifices. he is trying to keep all the talent we have, however when all the otehr clubs are chasing our guys we will struggle to keep them.

Am I wrong in saying that if all the payments to the first tier squad were shown on the screen then by merely adding these up you would know if any additional payments are being included in the 2006 cap?

To my way of thinking they are answering this question without having to say anything.

Fine, Ian Schubert has audited the books and said we are OK for 2005-06. If you remember I started my question saying OK, The cap for '06 has been checked and passed, I just wanted to know if, because Thommo asked for a termination, does that get counted in the cap.
As you yourself said, I didn't ask for the figure, I just want to know if any of the settlement is counted in the cap.
I then simplified it even further, using the players listed on the board as the basis for my enquiry, still the same crap answer, "no comment".

We elect the board, the board appoints the CEO, we have a constitutional right to information. So many others are in the loop, but the members are not, seems communistic to me. Remember, I didn't want to know the amount.

Would anybody else sign an agreement that wouldn't let you report even with the amount kept confidential, I don't think so.

Fair enough. Preacher and Steelers4eva seemed to think there were payments shown. Maybe I misunderstood.

i know you didnt ask for the figure, but at the end of the day what does it matter if the amount paid to him (and there is no confirmation if a payment was made!) does not effect out 2006 salary cap does it matter if it does got to the cap at all!! you are trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill. If the payments made us over the cap, then i would agree with you.

if thats the only thing you have to complain about.....................

Well, that'll do me on this. It's like knocking your head against a brick wall, you only do it because it feels good when you stop.

It was an easy question that I received a crap answer for, if you could describe it as an answer.

PS. It matters to me.

whatever turns you on preacher, I understood everything that was said at the meeting, some people choose to accept what is said and move on, while others continue to try to get answers to questions you know wont be answered! ( if that makes sense)

why dont you look towards thhe positives (or did you not hear any????????)of the evening and not concentrate on a very small aspect of the meeting.
