Cluj derby was abandoned after CFR Cluj scored & the opposite goalkeeper chased the scorer and pushed him causing a fight

Bless Romania.

I have been hit twice by fireworks, another time by a stadium chair and twice by glass bottles.

Not great material, from the 80's when it all peaked.

The last one is boring, fans fight on the pitch at 5 minutes in but that game did massive damage to the sport in NI.

Scariest experience was at a northern ireland v poland international at windsor park in 2009. Kicked off in a city center pub http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pf9_myDxzM0&feature=related.

The story

Spread outside and through the city to the stadium and surrounds. Rioting all day, half the city was shut down and cops brought in from leave, reserves etc..... The intial small band of polish ultras who flew in for the game where later joined by a sizeable of number of poles who lived in the city mainly in the area around the stadium (where i lived). Funnily enough my future house bathroom was used as a medical point by the ambo's lol. Street after street was wrecked, houses broken into, people bleeding out lying in the streets, total warzone.

Got even madder after the game. The local paramilitiaries used the breathing space during the game to get organised and after the game, through the night it was a bloodbath in the streets around the stadium. The next 2 weeks they went house to house kicking out foreign nationals, hundreds left the province as a result.

Police counter attack, past my house which u can see in the distance haha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TfC9Gg20Ko0

There are some wicked videos on youtube of the rioting but i cant find them atm (the game was a cracker and the atmosphere was electric, hatred on steroids! and we won :)

Duuuuude. F*cking hell!

Northern Ireland V Poland? It's not a rivalry which conjures up images of hooligan violance that's for sure. That first video is intense.

why was that guy digging up the pitch in the middle of the game? :D

Because the Dusseldorf fans thought the ref had blown for FT and wanted a memento to commemorate their historic promotion. But he actually just took the players off the pitch and suspended the game.

Nice! So what happened? They stormed the pitch before fulltime? I don't think Hertha have much of a case if the full match was played out. Fortuna D'dorf will have their first BL match behind closed doors at the most....

What about the player that spat in the black guy's face? So uncalled for....

thats pretty much it then some clown tried to take a piece of turf from with in the 20 yard box as a trophy and left a hole in the pitch

Boruc playing for poland added some spice. We have a number of celtic players but he is a dickhead of the highest order.

A drunken fight that turned into hooliganism and ethnic violence is the best explanation
