I see Auxerre vs Montpellier just got suspended. Fingers crossed it was for crowd violence....

Indeed it was! Auxerre's ultras copied Sevilla by throwing tennis balls onto the pitch and toilet paper on the goal netting as the second half started. Ref suspended play twice before the riot squad came in and sorted them out.

It was an internal protest against the club's board given how far they've slipped in 2 years (from UCL to Ligue 2).

However a rumour doing the rounds in France is that PSG's fans infiltrated the Auxerre ultra group to disrupt Montpellier's chances of winning the title. Didn't work obviously.

Once I find footage I'll put it up.

Love the first one. There's something particularly funny about seeing guys trying to punch police officers wearing helmets and protective clothing.

No idea, didn't see the game I had to work. Though PAOK fans don't usually need much motivation to behave like this. Maybe this will finally get them booted out of Europe, it's been a long time coming. They do this on a regular basis in domestic matches, but usually behave themselves for UEFA matches. Time will tell I guess...

In Australian football flares are considered weapons of mass destruction.

When you have an anti-terriost organisation following you into pubs on match day you know your league has major perception problems in terms of properly supporting the sport.

Went to an MLS game sat Red Bull Stadium a few weeks ago on my holiday, short walk from the pub to the ground would have had atleast 40 flares ripped and a few smoke grenades. Police sat there and watched while they blocked off the road for the march and didn't give a shit.
