Yeah, like I said you can't expect the British to understand atmosphere. Don't forget they have to market the league as fan friendly. Nothing nasty allowed.

The badges are fan made and sold at stadiums, or at least they were I think the kutte movement is being drowned out for the new generation of "fan" just like the anti scarves and banners.

Ajax fans, f**king bonkers. Poor Magpie can't see. WireMan wants to read the paper

Let me guess, the British are against exercise as well?
Oh man! The part where you start barging and pushing each other is the best! My team (Panionios) has a similar song, there's a break in the song and for about 10 seconds everyone just goes crazy. Love it!

 why can't magpie see it? is he banned?

well its not easy being the best supported league in the world

its ok TT to be jealous of the richest club in the world

Why would I be jealous of Manchester City? :?

Caring about the best league in the world, that's why the EPL is plastic and bland. You think the Greeks care about being 15th league in the world or whatever? No, the club is more than just watching football in the weekend.

You don't get it.

I think the Greeks have more important things to worry about at the moment!! But yeah the Greeks are dead special in that there clubs are more than just watching on the weekend..

people go to football in england to watch the game and not be tryhards and light flares

Inbetween the silly posts about world wars, i think this best descibes why watching the game in the UK is different.

The British (??) don't understand atmosphere. Exercise, Badges? You losing it man.

Is that how the Roosters promote the game? Come to the ground, do a work out, light some flares.
That would explain the huge numbers of atmosphere understanding Aussies that go to games in Sydney then like to preach to Brits about watching sport...

The Roosters? :? How are they relevant to this?

NRL has f**k all atmosphere. Too many dickheads like you and magpie. "sit down" "shhhhh" "don't bang on the window" "stop swearing"

f**kin semi final of 2010 best footy game ever and people telling us to sit down, joke.

I have noticed lots of women with Martin Kennedy badges though

So thats it. Someone told you to sit down at a rugby match so now I, as a United fan, must be like that person.

Nice logic. Wrong. But amusing.

The correct response when that happens is to say something along the lines of either:

A) excuse me sir, i paid for my ticket which means i am free to express my opinion and to support my club in the way that i see fit, and at this time of heightend excitement i am entitled to stand and support my team; or
B) either support your f*cking team or f*ck off you f*cking f*cker, why didn't you stay sat on your fat a*se on your f*cking couch in your sh*ty home. W*nker.

Now option A may get you further, but option B was the method that one fan at OT did use one night.
Yes he was thrown out, but he did get a big cheer from other fans at the time, and it shut the guy up!

Its nothing to do with that at all.

Plus there is a more of a rebellious under current (especially in Northern towns and cities) so that if someone said, everybody light a flair now cause it will look dead ace, the fans are more likely to say no.

Now if this happens spontaneously, not only is it more fun, but it feels real. Not some poptastic bit of fakery.
The most they stretch to are those cards you hold up in a made for TV spectacular. Rubbish and lasts for 10 secs till the kids get bored, then they come down again.
Plus fans in the Uk have an imagination so they can make stuff up on the fly. Something some of our European cousins lack.
Come on, you can't tell me the rubber-glove security/big brother society factors don't play a role! I mean, a Liverpool supporter got caught for swearing at an Oldham player! How did this happen in a full stadium!? It could only have been from CCTV or his fellow fans dobbed him in. It was probably a combination of the two. This would NEVER happen in Europe!

You guys call the Europeans 'tryhards' for lighting flares! HA! Is the 'rebel' factor you mentioned not a bit tryhard? Little chavs walking around with a "you can't tell me what do, I'm 15 dammit!" attitude...

If you really consider yourself a fan, then put all the BS aside, starting with your own ego, and learn to follow your team with one voice...

You've seen the videos posted in this thread, you can't possibly argue that UK has a better matchday atmosphere.

http://youtu.be/diA3D8LpEak <------ LOL it's so f**king quiet you can hear individual conservations

You can too! I heard:

"Where's David Beckham, doesn't he still play for them?"

"I'm a bit peckish dear, can you grab me a prawn sandwich from the Strettford End canteen?"

"Why are Manchester City a team as well? Manchesters' already got a team!"

"You're from Surrey are you? I work in Hong Kong these days, I'm flying home tomorrow so I'm back by Monday".

"F**king scousers! It's all their fault that......"

Partizan are fierce rivals of Red Star Belgrade - if you want to see more " match day atmosphere" then do a quick search on " delije " or " crvena zvezda " - arguably the most fircest and fanatical of fans in Serbia, and therefore the ex- Yugoslavia......the demolishion job they did against the croats just before the outbreak of the war over there shows what roughly 3000 fans can do at an away game , in a stadium that held about 20,000.

Serbs generally in red - left of screen
Coats generally in blue - right of screen

Oh man, all these videos make me want to go to Europe so bad.

I love this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26Ju8-AzH6I

Shows the whole way of life thing TT is talking about.
I think you or someone else must have posted that one before, because I remember seeing it. Amazing stuff! What an experience for the kids, especially the Tottenham kids!

They've played in front of what many pro's may never get the chance to...

theres a little bit of snow in december, january better call off the league for a month

skirts

I'll tell you who are even bigger skirts. The types (like yourself no doubt) who are at the cricket in a crowd of 100,000, they get told that Mexican waves are banned, and they OBEY!!! Because I guess you know a few hundred cops can arrest 100,000 fans right?

Lots of matches are played in snow in Germany

Didn't England get thrown in to chaos over the weather not too long ago lol

Btw the winter break is great for the players. Many leagues adopt it but no surprise the EP£ don't.
