Apparently if you can get in contact with him somehow he can provide a great nights entertainment...I think you have to 'text kurt' or something?

I don't get the Gidley hate. He is what every club, or group of blokes in general needs. Someone fearless who'll have a lash at women way out of his league but who will nonetheless provide that first hit up into a group of lasses so that the more talented members of the group can take advantage of opportunities that may present themselves.

He's also a great emotional support for his mates and will lend a shoulder to cry on at all hours of the nights, many players at Newcastle are aware that if they have a problem at 3am then they can ring Gids. We all need mates like that.

Should be the next immortal

Gidley has revolutionised the way players captain their teams from the bench.

I can't believe that guy was the captain for NSW once... OFF THE FREAKING BENCH! I bet QLD were laughing hard at that then. I'm glad now that people see what an over-rated hack he is!

The thing is no one in the media will call him out on his average play. All the ex footy players who commentate or have media rolls are all friends and will be to scared to call it as they see it, I bet you his name will still be thrown around when Origin comes.

This is what depresses me the most. Also the fact that his brother is CEO at the knights, so he will never be moved on while he has a contract in place :(

Yep and I doubt he'll ever be dropped either

I don't know about him playing origin - there are plenty more better players who are capable of playing in his positions, however I do agree with you guys that as long as Matt is CEO, Kurt will remain there!

I follow the NBA quite a bit and the players are never safe from criticism compared to what we see in the NRL. Everyone in the NRL is so protected and all the ex players are way too scared to call it as it is. This is the reason why I have given up on watching all Rugby League related shows. It's just mates looking out for mates.

Free to good home.

Actually, free to any home - good or bad.

Doesn't have to be a home. Could be a car boot, or an old refrigerator box.

Please, just take him.

He is ridicuously bad. I wonder if it will start to get to the levels like wests tigers saw with fitzhenry and John Morris when the crowd would boo them as their names were read out Onthe big screens Pre game.
