I am all for a lol@5(c)ff$ but in his case the fellow needs to be praised for speaking up. He is not after a sob story, he seems to want to bring to light his condition

I feel sorry for the bloke. It just goes to show that your career doesn't stop going downhill after your time at Souffs. Many players like Chris take the curse with them and suffer from the same level of success that the Rabbletohs have become accustomed to over the past 40 years.

The NRL needs to do more to ensure players are aware of the pitfalls of signing with Souffs. It really can prove to be a life-altering decision, and not for the better.

How the hell was Caruana on close to $400k/year?

While at Norths he was more than capable as a player, and a lot worse have earned a lot more.

And some here are being a bit unkind, obviously he hasn't managed his $'s very well and part of that can be put down to mental illness i'd imagine.

and once again the circle jerkers society show their lack of class

you had better get along to the next session, now f**k off

Good on Caruanna for trying to bring the spotlight onto his condition, good luck to him and i hope he gets it together and moves on with his life

maybe this could be a case for the Men of League Organisation

It's not like Norffs is much of a step up from 5(c)uff$. The latter might have failed for 40 years but Norffs managed over 75 years of ineptitude before they disappeared into the abyss.

Can anyone shed light on the Men of League in regard to these situations?

Are they as altruistic as they sound or is it a bit of a closed shop? Would be hard to believe they could help every bloody footballer with a sob story.

Makes you wonder about his family. Surely someone could give him a bed. Possibly there is more to the story he didnt let out and he has burnt family members

Depends whether the Men of League members are ex North Sydney team mates in the mid 90s, ex players like Billy Moore, Mark Soden, maybe JT, I mean who knows whether theyre willing to lend a hand.

It would be a great gesture.

There is a link in the article which has another article which details that he is recieving assistance from the Parrot, Josh Stuart and Florimo. He has also had assistance from Men of League.
Hope he gets well and back on his feet sooner rather than later.
