Not quite sure what to make of Matt Burtons 18 months at the Dogs. It certainly hasn’t been plain sailing.

They keep on recruiting players and to that end it means players have to be released to fit under the cap.

They had a tough season to date, I think I read somewhere they have used 30 or more players already this season.

Injuries certainly haven’t been kind to them.

One of there big money signings Ryan Sutton is languishing in NSW Cup. Can’t remember whether he was a Gus signing or recruited prior to Gus comping on board but he offers nothing.

Local junior in Averillo surplus to requirement's apparently he seems to be a decent player.

Always hard for a half in a struggling team.

Sutton is a Gould signing. Signed before Ciraldo though.

Injuries have been a pain. Especially Kiks.

We haven't seen the best of Averillo there. He has been poorly used.

Definitely, the Dogs and Ciraldo have had a tough season to date. Another clean out forthcoming with there roster for next season so perhaps things are not getting any easier in the short term. Never quite saw anything in Ryan Sutton when he was at the Raiders so not sure what Gus was watching Assuming he was a Gus signing.

Averillo is a Naden tier player IMO.

Athletically gifted but missing some key attributes to be more than average in any backline position.

Would be a handy backup for any injuries in the outside backs as having average platers in reserve is a luxury.

No longer in the NRL but Lachlan Coote has retired. 15 years in first grade:

Did extremely well for himself considering his size. Very skilful player. I remember watching him in junior reps and he was a class above most players on the field. Wasn't surprised when he got a debut for Penrith a few years later.

Won a comp with the Cowboys and 3 consecutive competitions with St Helens. Represented Scotland and Great Britain at International level as well.

Memorable game this one. He scored a double and we won it in golden point.

Always remember the on field interview after his first game he thanked everyone and all his fans for there support. Phil Gould almost wet himself.

That was hilarious. Doesn't seem like that long ago.

My favorite Coote moment was Him dropping Willie Mason with a shoulder charge. Willie was in space, full head of steam, 15 out with only Coote in front, would have been paying 1.01 to go in under the posts, Coote drilled him right in the chest, ball comes out and Willie is on the deck. It was beautiful.

I see former Panther Brayden McGready makes his debut for the Dolphins this week.

Had his share of serious injuries, so nice to see his perseverance finally lay off for him.

I broke my foot walking to the toilet at half time watching that game.

Didn't realise I'd done it until Monday morning and my foot was purple and twice the usual size.

Was horrible weather as well IIRC.
