Kikau was great for fifty minutes but was gassed after that.

Burto still looks terrible in the halves. Some of his kicks were really bad near the end

Good win for the Bulldogs. Storm look lacking in quality this season after so many player movements and their depth is clearly lacking. Bulldogs deserved their win, capitalised when the Storm player went to the bin with two tries and it was game over from that point. Slow start to the season for Matt Burton not overly convincing in the 5/8 role.

Storm had a few out injured. They'll come good.

overall he’s had a very impressive start to his eels career. That miss was poor but other than that he was pretty great, played a big role in 3 tries tonight.

He's walked into the side and been in the beat 3 players in two weeks straight. And there is a few good players. I don't think Matterson gets his spot. He will come back on the bench.

Makes you wonder. I think we could have opted to not extend Leota in 2021, put some more money into Kikau and re-sign Hopgood for a couple hundred grand. The below side has a few less question marks on it and I'd say would be clear favourites for 2023. In saying that, I'm optimistic taking Kikau out of the side will force the spine/coaching team to develop our attack not to rely on a freak talent which can only be a good thing for our prospects over the next 5-10 years.

1. Edwards 2. Tiny/Tito 3. Tago 4. Critta 5. To'o 6. Luai 7. Cleary 8. Hopgood 9. Kenny 10. Fish 11. Kikau 12. Martin 13. Yeo 14. Luke 15. Sorenson 16. Leniu 17. Salmon/Hosking/Peachey

This might not be a popular opinion but I think we could've held onto Hopgood by giving a chance at Sorensens spot on the bench. When Hopgood signed for Parra they had Matto, RCG and Paulo as their starting middle 3 so there is no way he expected to walk into a starting spot, that has happened as a result of Matto's suspension. He no doubt saw an easier pathway to FG at Parra but he was still stuck behind Huth here at Penrith for the back up minutes. Considering parra fans seem to think they got hopgood for a very modest contract we couldve kept him without giving him a starting spot imo.

Why Why Why do people keep on and on about players who are no longer with us. Look forward not back.

Looking forward, Sorro is 29 now and Huth is 30. None of our other reserve grade middle forwards have much experience. To me we seem to be f**king up our forward planning for our middle rotation. Looking forward to next season we will have Spencer, Hopgood and Teague playing roles in other teams while we are bring Sorro and Huth off the bench unless something changes quickly here.

Get some decent edges and I would move Martin to the middle. His future lies there.
