Four Broncos cleared of sex assault allegations

They'll be playing this weekend guys.

I'm personally not impressed to be honest, as not taking into account the possibility of any illegal activity, these blokes have brought the reputation of their club and their team mates into disrepute by placing themselves in a compromising position during a finals campaign (impecable timing, I know).

For this reason alone, I beleive the club should suspend them indefinately. The protection of the club's image and values (not to mention potential backlashes from sponsors, fans, media) are of far more importance than any player or players. Our results for the rest of this season are irrelevent now.

If giddy up gallop and go WAS a real ceo he would be on the phone to the broncos asking them are the 3 players to be stood down - the bronco's would say no they aren't and giddy up gallop and go would then say yes they are - play them and your out of the finals.

but of course in reality giddy up and go will not do anything which is another of a long list of reason he and the other nitwits have to go. they make morris iemma/reba meagher/costa/watkins/sartor etc look competent

One things for certain though, the Storm supporters are making new banners as we speak referencing the 3 players and the use of the video ref.

But Judy Spence will probably be at the gate to confiscate them!

As stated, I have not presumed anything.

My comments relate only to what has been posted by certain posters.

I'll leave it to the police.

Sorry, wasnt directed at you, moreso the ones who are drawing comparisons to Bird claiming these three should be dropped before any charges are even laid.

as far as i can see, the brisbane team hasn't been officially named. i think it's safe to say that if players are named they won't be stood down.

I am one of those people. I think they should be dropped for damaging the Bronco's and the NRL brand. Like JW has already posted the protection of the clubs image and values are more important than any player or players.

By not dropping them, Brisbane are saying its ok to go out and get drunk, then participate in groupsex acts in a toilet cubicle of some seedy nightclub.

I see no problem with that if it was consensual. Who are you to decide where pissheads should have a root? It wouldn't even have made the news if the woman didn't come out with a rape allegation. The whole SBW/Candice Falzon thing was one of the biggest beatups of all time

Who do they stand down?

Neither the police nor the club have named anyone.

We just have some media reports.

So who?

The fact that she has made a complaint leads us to believe that parts of it were not consensual. The fact that it made the news shines a bad light on the Brisbane club and the NRL in general.

They have disrespected and let down their teammates and fans at the very least.
They should never have been out drinking in the first place.

Why would Gallop do anything? It is a club related issue. The club has it's own standard of conduct and they are investigating whether this has been breached. If they find that it has, the players will have their contracts terminated. Police are conducting their criminal investigation into the allegation of rape and no findings have been released yet. So on what grounds exactly would Gallop have any right to ask for these players to be stood down?

If Gallop gets on the phone and asks for these players to be stood down based on media reports and very limited release of information from the Police, then he puts prejudice on the police investigation. This is very simple to understand for those who have a grasp of logic.

Get off your judgemental high horse and grow a brain.

EXACTLY.

It doesn't matter if charges are laid or not.
They went out drinking and have gotten themselves into a very bad situation. They have disrespected their fans, their teammates, their coach, their club and the NRL as a whole. All this during a red hot finals series that will now be marred by this event forever.
The 3 of them deserve to have their heads bashed together for being so irresponsible, and in my opinion, don't deserve to be a part of the game for the rest of the year.

Then what was she doing in the male toilets? Are you saying three players dragged her in there against her will in front of a club full of witnesses?

I look forward to hearing commentary like this come Saturday Night.

"Thaiday!!! He's straight through the gap, offloads to Hunt, he gets it away to Boyd. Thaiday backing up in support. Boyd won't need it though he'll go all the way himself !!! The Broncos score!!! Thaiday, Hunt and Boyd have combined beautifully!!!! "
