And your point is? The witness interviews and statement were good enough for the police to press charges in the Bird situation.

The Broncos situation hasn't reached that stage yet, if it indeed will.

Anyone attempting to compare the two as if Bird has been hard done by is simply deluding themselves, any neutral can see that.

and the evidence and witness statement was also good enough to charge some poor bastard with rape recently, despite the fact he was at work at the time, go figure.

I'm not too happy about the double standards being shown right now either, but we don't have all the facts and nor do you. But i certainly don't remember broncos fans being up in arms about what should happen to bird, carney and the incident at coffs.

No probs.

Maybe a search through previous posts may help refrsh your memory.

"I’ve called a press conference today to advise you all that this afternoon we terminated the contracts of Ian Lacey and John Te Reo," Cullen said.
"Since the alleged incident in the early hours of Saturday morning, we’ve had our own internal investigation. "Andrew Gee, our football manager, has been in charge of that investigation but it’s been very thorough and carried out with the help of external parties outside of the police. It’s been held independently of the police investigation. "We’ve concluded that the two players in question were in serious breach of both their NRL contracts and our internal code of conduct. "Therefore we felt we had no other option but to terminate the individuals' contracts forthwith."

So Bruno in the Te Reo/Lacey incident fired them after an internal investigation. Well Bruno has said another internal investigation has been launched into this issue and as of yet no word has been made to say that the clubs investigation has ended. Yet just 3 days after the allegations have come to light you're prepared to sink the boot in. Brush it off your shoulder already, surely you can't walk straight with all that weight.

chip on the shoulder, how original. Not to mention hypcritical coming from a QLDér

I actually agree with your comment about being stood down. I do take exception to the double standards shown by the club. Simple enough ?

Where are the double standards? We're 3 days in, no charges laid as of yet just media speculation and an internal investigation has been launched like previous cases. God you're going to look like a prized tool (yet again) if these 3 blokes get sacked down the line. Then the question will be where does your club stand on these kind of issues if they still accept Boyd for next year.

I disagree mate. I submit that had this been a regular season match with 3 lesser players, there would have been a high probability that they would have been stood down until the internal investigation had concluded.

and who could forget this beauty from Bruno

"It (Lacey and Te Reo's sacking) had nothing to do with the police investigation or the judicial system, it was about our investigation. I'm quite relaxed with our stance."

So perhaps we should all wait for this particular internal investigation to conclude before jumping to silly "no integrity" claims.

Kinda looks foolish.

Yet we just don't know from past experience. Personally I'd like them to be stood down and I've already said as much in the Broncos forum. That was said before hearing the further details that have been alleged in the media which don't seem half as serious as the initial allegations. I'm happy with them playing if the club is privy to information that they feel makes the players innocent and since we're only 3 days in and we don't have the whole picture I'm not yet prepared to hang the club out to dry and sink the boot in.

I agree. An absolute disgrace. You never heard anyone from the NSW ministry come out about Carney, Bird or any other player.

Her comments were

She cares more about the game. Many times in the past, she hasn't cared about the "don't make judgements." when making comments about other alleged offenders. But then they aren't professional footballers playing for a club where a Government owned organisation is one of the major sponsors.

If she was asked questions she should have politely declined. She's the police minister. The minister in charge of the police officers conducting the investigation and she throws out sh*t like that.

I'm writing up a letter and posting it off tomorrow. I know she probably won't give a sh*t(and probably won't even read it), but if enough of the public do (and I know a lot of people are) then her staff will give her the message that her comments are very ill-advised.

I was very surprised by her comments when I saw her on the news tonight

how disappointing from a police minister

Yeah it's really disappointing that a police minister would uphold the law of presuming innocence until proven guilty. How shocking. Maybe people should actually read her quotes rather than the fluff the journo has put around them trying to twist her comments. She's basically stating that she is not going to pre-judge the players until the conclusion of the investigation.

And that is relevant to Bird's situation how? And to the Bronco's situation how?

And your comeback regarding the issue of whether the club suspects Bird lied to them, and the issue of the Police's statement that they suspect Bird lied to them? And the discussion about Bird possibly being on the last chance of a three stirkes your out Club policy?

Or you can ignore these points and just keep feeling hard done by...

And you'll have sources to back this up right?

...right?

Read the newspapers some time. Minimum age to join this site is 13. If you're 13 then you should be intelligent enough to keep up with the news. Or are you providing an example of what a typical Broncos fan is like and just trying to tell everyone subtly that they don't have a clue?

Frank it's other Broncos fans that keep pointing to police investigations on players being stood down or not. So don't try and now change it to internal investigations.

couple of questions
1. why form a crime scene if the only offence was filming a sexual act without consent?
2. why all the headlines about sexual assualt at the beginning? wasn't the girl in question straight up with police about what happened from the beginning?

Funny that. And here I thought you were 13.
