I dont have Fox and therefore stuck with 9, yet I'm finding by the 2nd half I'm turning off the coverage and listening to it on the radio. NRL needs to ditch 9 in the next media deal

I lose interest as soon as Phil Gould opens his mouth.

Are tv and radio in sync now? Crikey, if that's the case I'm bringing Matty Elliott to the big screen

Nah I don't think they're in sync. I was listening to Moore and Elliott on radio the other week out the back yard during the Dogs V Knights game and when they called a try, I was able to walk over to the back door and sneak a look at the TV and see the try being scored in "real time" on channel 9 - ie it wasn't a replay, it was unfolding there and then on the TV...

That's a f**king shame

Yesterdays commentary was terrible, the caller was ok but Freddie, Wally and Lockyer are hopeless, especially Wally and Lockyer. They have trouble speaking and when they do its dribble most of the time. Its nearly the worst I've ever heard

Nine, the home of Rugby League. Apparently

Canterbury should be tearing shreds off them for using that image, poor form imo.

The self proclaimed home of rugby league or a channel that shows every game with no ads during play?

Pause live tv for a few seconds to sync vision with sound
Crikey, you'd think a bloke that records everything he watches except RL would've thought of that . . . maybe I'm not a f**king genius after all

. . . or is radio in front of tv

Ahh, my sync issue was the reverse, so depending on your technology you might have some room to move.

... surprised you don't enjoy listening to Hadley

Certainly worth trying it out, radio commentators having to call a game that people can't see means less time wasted on bullshit

Looks like Channel 9 are (and for the next few weeks will) using the Fox camera coverage for the 7:30pm Saturday matches, hence why the camerawork looks much better than when Ch9 have been responsible for the coverage.

Did you find the 9 on field audio muted? It sounded like when Australian callers do a game in studio in Sydney when it's being played in the UK. I assume that because of the feed as you mentioned above.

Obviously Bracey/Sterlo/Lockyer did their segments in the Ch9 studio somewhere in the north of Sydney, but were Matt Thompson et al. calling the match at the ground or also in the Ch9 studio?

Even for the Ch9 matches that Fox simulcast (Thursday night/Friday night/Sunday), Fox still have their commentators calling at the ground for those matches (although taking the Ch9 camera coverage as that was one of the conditions when Fox got simulcasting rights, but I believe from next year when the new tv rights deal starts that Fox will do their own full broadcast for those Ch9 matches).

I prefer nine. I think because I associate the games they do with being good or important games (state of origin and Friday night football) and wined down timeslots. They don't bother with the lesser games.

Whereas I associate Fox with all those other games on Saturday afternoon that make me wonder how one goes about getting an actual life. (e.g. Warriors v Titans or Knights v Cronulla etc).
