About time the “Blitz” has been real.
Every other year everybody whinges about how the early season blitzes die in the arse and make a mockery of the game.
Bigger picture is that the NRL are trying to open the game up and destroy the cheating from years and years of player and coach abuse.
If the participants (coaches and players) get off their high horses and realise they don’t own the game and that the line has been drawn in the sand then the game will really die.
I see this debacle from tonight as a beginning, not an end. Surely everyone that plays and runs a team will at least start getting the message that this crackdown is serious.
The penalty count could of been even higher. Slater should of gotten a couple. Vunivulva got away with sideways play the balls again. 8,000 forward passes by both teams were let go as examples.
The ones in the jerseys and the ones instructing them have to take ownership. The refs have been told to play to the rules. The players have known for months. But as if to prove how dumb they are and how arrogant they are they keep pushing the boundaries. Now the boundaries are pushing back.
Short term pain for long term gain IMO.
All the whinging from fans and commentators is perplexing. This is what we have all asked for for years. Clean the game up we scream!
Well now that attempts are being made to do just that we want to do a 180 and hop off the bus that’s travelling to CleanUpVille.
Get on board. Don’t blame the refs. This is down to players and coaches who for too long have manipulated and steered the game clear of the rules.
I hope it continues long enough for the dumb phuques to see the penny drop.
